Anti Scale Compounds

Anti scale compounds or anti oxidation compounds manufactured by SPS have proven to effectively either eliminate or substantially reduce scaling and decarburisation during heat treatment, hot forging and hot rolling. Some of the benefits due to use of anti-scale compounds made by SPS are:

 

  • Minimum scaling & decarburisation of metals during heat treatment & re-heating.
  • Prevention of quench cracking after heat treatment.
  • Reduced operations like shot blasting, machining, grinding, etc. due to minimal scaling after heat treatment.
  • Elimination of scale pit marks on forged & cast components.
  • Material saving possible as material allowance for machining and grinding of scale pits on surface of components is reduced.
  • Improved surface properties due to reduced decarburisation.

Selective gas nitriding is done by use of special masking compound manufactured by SPS.

 

The areas where hardness is to be avoided during nitriding is coated with the masking compound. This ensures prevention of hardness in desired areas. Benefits of using anti nitriding compound made by SPS are:

 

  • Prevents nitriding on areas of component where nitriding is not desired.
  • Reduces consumption of ammonia gas during nitriding. 
The selective gas nitriding compound has lead to increased productivity in the area of nitriding.

Hot Forging Lubricants

Eco friendly, non polluting hot forging lubricants that help in increasing die life are the need of the hour of the hot forging industry. SPS manufactures graphiteless, water soluble, non-polluting lubricants which have proven to increase hot forging die life from 30% up to 100% as confirmed by customers. This hot forging lubricants is enabled as the wearing of dies is greatly reduced by good lubrication. Load on forging presses and hammers are also reduced.
