Centrifugal Fans

Centrifugal Fans

AIREX centrifugal fans come mainly in two range of sizes to be ideally used for withering, fermenting and drying and as in I. D. fans for dryers.

Die-pressed steel vanes from the impeller, mounted on a cast iron hub; the shaft is carried on two heavy duty bearings housed in sheet metal casting. Aluminium heat slinger on the bigger fans. Motor and drives are optional. AIREX FC 110 WITH STOVE.

Axial Flow Fans

Axial Flow Fans

AIREX fans come in five popular sizes to suit the size of trough you can conveniently make (also suitable for sorting room applications as exhaust fans and for Java Tunnels).

Single piece 6-bladed cast aluminium alloy impellers house in a heavy sheet metal casting. Direct driven by a totally enclosed fan cooled motor of international make, the motor sits on a sturdy 'T' shaped base made of thick plate. Impellers bore provided with cast iron bush to ensure perfect fit on motor shaft. An inlet protection guard is standard on all AIREX axial fans.

Green Leaf Sifters

Green Leaf Sifters

(A) For CTC It is Vertically Vibrating machine used as withered leaf feeder to Supervane / Rotorvane. Vibrating action of the Machine breaks the lump of withered and feed the leaf evenly to Supervane /Rotorvane. It also cleans withered leaf from foreign particles and dust through sieving operation.

(B) For Orthodox It is also used after rolling table to extract 1st fine and 2nd fine from rolled tea during orhtodox manufaturing by using a perforated tray of specific hole size.

  • Full load consumption is less than 1 hp
  • Design of hopper is macth to break the lump of withered leaf.
  • Its specific vibrating action help in efficiet sifting, cooling and lump breaking.
  • Silent block bushes are provided for noise free operation.

Supervane

Supervane

Supervane is manufactured in 8", 12", 15" and 18" cylinder bore sizes to cater for varying quantity of crop. The machine consists of a horizontal steel cylinder with replaceable stainless steel liner inserted in it. The cylinder is flanged at one end and bolted to an upright gable which is secured to its fabricated base. The fluted fan shape resistors and the rotor comprising of a worm for leading the leaf forward, series of forward propelling rotating vane segments and iris plate assembly for varying the pressure, are made of Stainless Steel. All the movable parts of the rotor are mounted on a steel shaft machined to fine tolerances.

Plucking Machine

Plucking Machine

Features

  1. HAIR-TRIMMER TYPE BLADES
Harvesting with the hair-trimmer type blades (model S-BN) leaves few damaged leaves behind and proves the highest picking performance, i.e. over 90 times faster than hand picking.
  2. HAND AND SIMPLE TO OPERATE
The machine is light in weight and carrying on your back the engine model B equipped with a simple and handy automatic centrifugal clutch, "drive" and "stop" can be set by a throttle lever. The clutch shall automatically come off when overloaded and prevents the engine from undue load thus to ensure remarkable performance.
  3. IDEAL LEAF GATHERE
The machine employs the blast-blower theory for its leaf gathering system and is completely free from damaging and leaving behind fragments of leaves.
  4. UNIQUE BLADES
Outstanding sharpness of the blades made of selected special steel is a result of our long experienced know how of heat-treatment, polishing and chrome-plating. The 2.0mm thick sharp cutting blades withstand abrasion and are free from tanning iron.
  5. VISIBLE BLADES
The blades are set so well that they are visible during operation. You can see for yoursell how smoothly the work is going on.

How to set

  1. First, set the flexible shaft into the screw hole on the gear case box of the machine (to clockwise direction), then tightly fasten the outer connecting metal, insert the semicircle side of the shaft into the semicircle of the clutch case dramshaft on the engine and tightly fasten together with connecting metal.
  2. Tea-leaf bag; with its saran net upward, clip the end of the bag between two rear boards behind the blades side and hook the mouth rubber of the bag onto the bag stopper (each two pcs) outside the two side-boards. The end of the tea-leaf bag must be bound before leaf gathering.

Caution

  1. Do not bend the flexible shaft sharply during operation to prevent heating or damage. Securely grip the handles with both arms stretched straight while in operation.
  2. Do not repeat picking the same area once harvested, otherwise it may produce chopped leaves.
  3. always stop the engine before moving to a different leaf gathering place.
  4. when blade sharpness is weakened after long time use (normally 15000 kgs. tea leaf harvest), an adjustment of the blades fixing bolt/nut will extend the blades life. However, it is better to replace or grind the blades.

Lubrication

  1. Once every three days (24 hours work/day), it is necessary to give the flexible shaft fresh grease and wipe off dirt to clean the shaft.
  2. Supply a little oil to the fuel tanks (4 places) on the upper blades at an interval of 2 or 3 working hours.
  3. Refueling the gear case : Supply to the upper grease nipple at an interval of 100 working hours and to the lower grease nipple after 24 hours working.

Pruning Machine

Pruning Machine

With constant increase in cost as well as gradually decreasing availability of labour in Tea Plantations, the need for mechanization in various field operations has become imminent. STEELSWORTH has carried out Field surveys over the last few years and have realized that while planters are reluctant to use mechanized plucking aids due to obvious disadvantages there are other field activities, which can be mechanized to a great extent.

Pruning is one of the areas identified for such mechanization. With this aim a Power Pruner was modified and adapted to suit pruning of tea bushes. After extensive Research and field trials with their overseas collaborators STEELSWORTH has launched a simple, easy to operate and highly cost effective mechanized pruning device.

This equipment comprises of a hardened alloy steel pruning cutter revolving at a high speed of 6000 RPM powered by a small petrol engine of 43cc. It has a long sturdy stem for proper access of cutter end of the stem to the entire area of the bush. It is carried around the shoulders of one person.

From various field trials it has been found that productivity due to the machine is enhanced by at least 5 times compared to the manual method. This results in large savings in cost, helps in completing pruning process in shortest possible time and to overcome labour shortage during the period.

STEELSWORTH has successfully demonstrated this machine in Dooars and South Indian areas during the last few pruning seasons in association with their overseas collaborator and T.R.A. A demonstration on Pruning was recently carried out in all the major plantation districts of South India as well as by UPASI. The results were so impressive that all companies have come forward to try out in a larger scale.

Besides Indian domestic market STEELSWORTH has demonstrated this equipment in Sri Lanka recently in a Tea Seminar organized by the Company and the Sri Lankan planters appeared more than keen to try out.

With such encouraging result and all around response, this product seems to have a great future and an important tool in the hands of a planter with a vision of the future.
