Punched Tape Concertina Coil is modern version of Barbed Wire, Designed to prevent intrusion along premiere barriers. Punched Tape Concertina Coil is fabricated from high tensile wire onto which a multitude of razor-sharp barbs are formed at close intervals. The barb are designed to have a precision and gripping action. The wire strip are galvanised to prevent corrosion.

Scope:Covers the requirements for two types of galvanized steel barbed wire with two strands of wire.

Terminology: Length of the Barb - Shall mean the distance of the barb point from the axis of the line wire or wires around which the point wire is wound.

• Line Wire -Shall mean a wire of,specified diameter of which the barbed wire is made.
• Point Wire -Shall mean a wire of specified diameter of which the barbs are made.
• Reel- Shall mean a coil of wire wound round a frame.

Types:

• Type A (Iowa Type): The barbs shall have four points and shall be formed by twisting two point wires each two turns, tightly around both line wires making altogether four complete turns.
• Type B (Glidden Type): The barbs shall have ,four points and shall be formed by twisting two point wires,each two turns, tightly around one line wire making altogether four complete turns.

Material: The galvanized barbed wire shall be manufactured from galvanized mild steel wire. Specification for mild steel wire for general engineering purposes or as per buyer's requirment.

• Single Core Wire Concertina Style Combining the above strength of the concertina these are most effective barrier manufactured to day by IQPZ. Clipped together at intervals permitting the reinforced wire to be pulled apart in concertina fashion, is manufactured in 450mm, 610mm, 750mm, 1050mm.Each roll covers 6meters, 9meters, 15meters, 15meters.Thus providing a lighter weight roll and better ease of installation.
• Double Coil Concertina Style Truly an impenetrable needle sharp barbs spikes. These Double Coil manufactured by IQPZ, is a foolproof combination of 1050mm and 610mm being the outer and inner dia-meter coils being stretched in concertina style. This covers 15meters.
• V-Arm Packed Double Coil Manufactured from CRC strips 19mm width each barb 9 to11 mm in width and needle sharp. Produced by IQPZ in 610mm and 750mm dia.The coils are in reverse helixin relation to each other and connected by four rows of stainless steel cable. Each roll covers 9 meters. Originally designed as ground barrier though also effective on top walls, rooftops and chain link fencing.

Scope: Covers the requirements for galvanized steel chain link fence fabric intended for various purposes. This standard does not cover the requirements pertaining to straining posts, streets, base plates and other fittings.

Dimensions:

• Mesh Size – The mesh size shall be determined by measuring the minimum clear distance between the wires forming the parallel sides of the mesh.
• Width – The width of fabric shall be the parallel dimensions from one extreme line wire to other extreme line wire and shall be checked in fully stretched condition. The tolerance on the width shall be +/- 0.7 of the mesh size.
• Length – The fabric shall be supplied in rolls of 15, 20 and 25 m. The supplied length shall not be less than the above values when measured in fully stretched condition.

Tolerances: Tolerances permitted on the diameter of wire shall be as given in IS : 280-1978. Specification for mild steel wire for general engineering purposes.
