Sumita Tex Spin Pvt. Ltd. is part of the SUMITA Group, which is promoted by Mr. Omprakash Poddar. The Group carries on the family business of textile manufacturing. Mr. Omprakash Poddar has a very rich experience spanning more then 45 years in the field of weaving, processing, knitting, texturising, etc. He is considered among the leading industrialists inthe textile sector in Western India. He heads the Group as its Chairman.

Mr. Anurag Poddar, the son of Mr. Omprakash Poddar, now looks after the regular operations of the Group as its Managing Director. It is his managerial and operational capabilities, that has lead to the steady growth of the Group in the past decade.

SUMITA was among the pioneers in the field of manufacturing Polyester Textured Yarn in India. Their first factory to manufacture Polyester Textured Yarn commenced operationsin 1987 with one machine having installed capacity of 500 MTPA. Since then, the Group hasset up additional units steadily increasing their capacity. Since the year 2000, the Grouphas been consolidating all its capacity at a single location giving them the additionaladvantages of more efficient administration.

In Sumita Tex Spin Pvt. Ltd., the Group has its latest manufacturing unit established in 2005. The unit commenced production in 2005 with an installed capacity of 12,000 MTPA with 10 latest new generation Alidhra Texturising machines, each with 312 spindles. In 2007, the unit was expanded with additional 10 new Alidhra Texturising machines (each with 336 spindles). In 2009, the unit was further expanded with additional 11 new Alidhra Texturising machines (each with 336 spindles). In 2010, the company added further 9 new Alidhra Textursing machines (each with 336 spindles). With this, the installed capacity now stands at 55,000 MTPA (or 13,200 spindles), all at a single location.
