Rotational molding is a three-stage, pressure less, plastic molding process. During the first stage of heating the charged mold slowly rotates in two planes (bi-axial rotation). Heat transfer causes the plastic charge inside the mold to melt and get uniformly coated on the interior of the mold. During the second stage, the mold with coating of molten plastic charged almost solidified moves to the cooling station. The mold is cooled by air and water spray while it is still rotating in its arm. In the final load/unload stage, the mold is opened by opening all the nut bolts or de-clamping all the clamps. The mold is opened and the part is removed from the mold. A new charge of material is loaded into the mold. The mold is closed with the help of nuts and bolts or clamps and is kept ready for the next cycle. While the first arm is going through second stage the second arm is under going first stage and the third arm going through third stage, and so on. Thus, the process becomes a continuous process.
