Steel Refrigerant Compressors
We offer customers a wide range of refrigeration compressors. These `SRA-Series' compressors are precision designed and robust machines capable of running continuously for longer periods with minimum attention requirements. These are also suitable for all normal applications & operating conditions.
Compressor Components :
Crankcase and Cylinder Housing –
Iron /steel based bodies
Easy access to interiors of the compressor for inspection
Cleaning/ adjustment of motion work can be gained by removing back.-end cover/ single hand hole cover provided for this purpose
All models fitted with an, oil level sight glass & drain plug
Crankshaft –
Two- throw type crankshafts forged of special alloy steel
Accurately machined and feature fine ground finish bearing surfaces
Dynamically balanced shafts to minimize vibration
Carried on two wrapped bimetallic bushes within the crankcase
Whenever necessary this type of bearing can easily be replaced
Crankshaft thrust washers fitted to one end of the crankcase that can also be easily replaced
Crankshaft Gland Seal –
Crankshaft gas sealed at gland end by a flexible multi spring precision seal
It is continuously lubricated & cooled by oil from pressure feed system while compressor is running
Sealing faces are made using tungsten carbide and bronze to deliver optimum functionality and service life standards
Cylinder Liners -
Liners based on high tensile cast iron with fine ground external & honed internal finish
Connecting Rods-
Connecting rods are H section steel stampings fitted with slip-in steel backed white-metal lined big end bearings as well as bronze small end bushes
Pistons –
Pistons made of aluminum alloy
These are fitted with 3 compression & 2 oil scraper rings to provide efficient gas sealing and good oil control
Valves –
Ring plate type suction & delivery valves made of special alloy steel
Suction valve arranged to seat on flanged head of the cylinder liner
Delivery valve & seat form part of the safety head assembly
Both valves are spring loaded for positive action
Safety Head –
Safety head in each cylinder held down by heavy coil spring against which it can lift to relieve undue pressureGas Strainer –
Gas strainer conveniently housed on suction connection of machine that makes them easily removable for cleaning without difficulty
Felt filter provided for fitting inside strainers during compressors running-in period to trap scale & other impurities scoured from system by the refrigerant
Delivery Manifold –
Delivery manifold is a common header into which gas from several cylinders is discharged
Manifold designed to prevent minimum heat exchange surface between suction & delivery gas passages (this feature assumes importance when machine is used as an ammonia compressor)
Lubrication –
Oil under pressure supplied to all bearings & crankshaft seal by means of gear pump driven directly from the end of the crankshaft
Oil in pump drawn into suction unit through fine mesh strainer & delivered to bearings by way of `felt element' oil filter
Magnet provided to trap any magnetic particles
A crank case oil level sight glass fitment provided
