Biological Treatment Systems Item Code: Swift-Bio-Tec We offer a range of biological treatment systems (swift bio-tec), which are compact, skid mounted and ready to use biological treatment systems. Use of moving bed bio reactor technology in the system, reduced the process time and make them extremely compact as compared to the traditional biological systems. Our systems are delivered pre-piped, pre fabricated and skid mounted. The overall dimensions are selected in manner, which allows the systems to be easily transported through road or by sea. To provide easy access, all the essential equipment such as pumps, blowers, meters, control systems are mounted on the front side of the system. Further, we can also provide machinery compartment with lockable doors, and the systems can be transported easily from one to another. Operating Principle
Swift bio system works on bio film principle. To provide a large area for the growth of bio film, a specially designed element is used. To form the Bio-media, a large number of small elements are placed in the suspension of the bio-reactor. To circulate the media in the bio reactor, the air is blown under pressure. This process moves the bio-media in the circular motion additionally the air current provides the necessary oxygen to the bio mass. Gradually a bio films gets formed on the bio media. In conventional static media bio-reactors, the media, which does not get adequate air supply, turns into Black patches. This happens, when the air is blown, it finds the easiest path, thereby bypassing certain bio-media. Under swift systems, since the media in continuously moving, the black patches are avoided. Further, the biological treatment is followed by speeding up the settling system, thereby making the sediments settle down and discharging a clear effluent. Commonly all the systems are designed with 3 stage system and 3 compartments. The system is best used for producing effluent with less than 300 PPM BOD. Stage 2 can be used, in case of BOD upto 80 PPM. The quality of the effluent water are line with the standards of pollution control boards, can be reused for gardening, irrigation other applications. Additionally, to make the water useful for toilets, wash, laundry, a filtration unit can be added after the biological treatment. Applications The Swift bio systems are used for treating the waste water coming from the following: Sewage treatment systems for:

Oil Water Separators For Ships We deal in a wide range of oil water separators for ships, also known as supersep oily water separator, which make use of latest coalescence principle. These are two stage separators, which includes primary and secondary stages. Under the primary separating stage, the conical or parallel plates are used for removing coarse oil globules. In the secondary stage coalescing cartridges are used for removing very fine oil globules. Before starting the operation, the entire system is primed with clean water. The pump sucks the oily water from the oily water storage tanks and transfers it to the primary stage. Under this stage a large surface area is provided for the oily water to flow, which helps in coalescing finer oil globules. After that the water with traces of oils is discharged into the secondary stage, where it is passed through coalescing filters. These filters hold the phase of dispersed oil and when it becomes saturated with oil, large oil globules are released, which gets separated easily. The separated oil is sensed by the level control probes, which are fitted on the top portion of both the columns. These probes activated the corresponding electropneumatic and electromagnetic valves, which drains out the accumulated oil, from the separator. Oil water mixtures containing upto 30% oil can be handled using this system. These systems can operate automatically. Salient Features:

Oil Water Separators For Industries We hold expertise in offering oil water separators, which are commonly used in Petroleum and petrochemical industries. These oil separators are extended version of oil water separators used in shipboards. Available in standard sizes and capacities, we can also supply our oil water separators in customized options, to suit the requirements of our clients. Construction: The oil water or the oily effluent gets collected in the underground tank with the function of gravity. For pumping the effluent through the oil water separator, a slow running low shear pump is used. To start or stop the pump, an automatic level control system is used. The oil water separator consists of three stages depending upon the level in the underground tank. The stages are as under:
- Parallel plate cross flow separator
- Multimedia filtration column
- Coalesce column
The parallel plate cross flow separator is used for separating the larger oil globules and larger suspended particles. To provide enough opportunities for coagulation of finer oil globules in to larger oil globules, the parallel plate separator is used for providing a large surface area for oily water to flow over. The major portion of the oil gets removed with the help of parallel plate separator. Further, water with fine traces of dispersed oil is transferred to the colescer column, which consists of various colescer filters to remove the traces of oil. To trap all the suspended solids and to prevent them for entering and blocking coalescers, the multimedia filter is mounted between the parallel plate separators. These are equipped with automatic control for automatic operation of the separator. The system can operate automatically, without any assistance of the operator. Equipped with automatic oil water interface sensors and electro-pneumatic valves, which are mounted on each of the columns, our systems open the electro-pneumatic valves, which discharges the accumulated oil, when the level of the accumulated oil in the oil collection dome, increases by a certain level. When the oil gets drained, our detectors signal the control panel to shut off the electro-pneumatic valves. Available in various capacities, our separators are slid mounted and can be assembled in short time. Standard capacities available (In m3 /hr)

Oil Skimmers We are a top-notch manufacturer of oil skimmers, which are available in the following types:
Weir Type Oil Skimmer:
Our weir type oil skimmers are floating oil skimmers, which uses adjustable skimming weir for removing oil floating on water. These skimmers are ideally used for removing large volumes of oil, especially when the thickness of oil film floating on water is high. Fitted with non clogging hydraulic driven pumps, mounted below the skimming weir, our hydraulic power packs are used for driving pump. Further, lowering or raising, the skimming weir is offered with the skimmers. The hydraulic power packs run on either electrical motor or Diesel engine. Capacities available: 5 m3 / hr to 100 m3 /hr.
Rotating Disc Skimmer:
Our rotating skimmers are used for removing thin layers of oil floating on water. Equipped with multiple banks of thin stainless steel disc mounted on the common shaft, which rotates at slow RPM, our disc bank assembly are placed insides the floating fiber glass structure. During the rotation, the discs pick up the floating oil, scraped from the discs by the scrappers. The recovered oil gets collected in the oil sump located in the centre of skimmer head, from where it pumped out.
Capacities available: 5 m3/hr to 25 m3 /hr.
Rotating Drum Type Skimmer:
Similar to the disk skimmers, these rotating drum type skimmers, uses a single large drum instead of a bank of small discs. Ideally used for fixed types of applications such as oil water receiving or storing tanks, our drum type skimmers are widely appreciated for its stable performance.
Rope Type Skimmers (Oil Mops):
Our rope type skimmers uses a long loop of specially fabricated polypropylene rope for removing the floating oil. The rope is moved continuously in a loop manner over the oily water. When the oil sticks to the rope, it is passed between the roller, which squeezes out the excess oil sticking to it. The rollers are operated either by an electrical motor or by a diesel engine.

Vacuum Oil Filtration System Most of the demanded environmental control systems include transformer oil purification plants that use a combination of high vacuum treatment system and fine filtration. Since, large numbers of transformers that are used in distribution of power make use of insulating oil, as a result the oil gradually looses its insulating properties to entrance of water (from the moist air). Suspended particles and sludge are generated due to constant oxidation of the oil. Hence the oil needs to filtered and treated properly through a system for removing water and other impurities. Our systems uses a combination of high vacuum treatment system and fine filtration, which extracts water in the form of vapours, then it filter the oil. After that the oil passes through a column of activated alumina for correcting its acidity. Since, these systems are to be moved from one transformer to another, they are mounted on a trailer. The system is pre-wire as well as pre-piped and ready to use. To make the system operation, following things are required to be done:
- Inlet and outlet connections by flexible hose.
- Connecting three phase electrical supply.
Operating Principle:
To remove moisture, dissolved gases and carbon particles which are harmful to preserve isolating properties of transformer oil, our system is used. Further, it is also capable of removing sludge and other types of suspended solids. System is designed to operate on a low temperature and high vacuum principle. When high degree of vacuum is applied, the boiling point of water and vapor pressure of volatile substances drops down drastically. Since, the water vapors from free water and vapors of volatile substances escape from the oil; as a result the isolating properties are improved. High vacuum systems can bring down the level of moisture as low as 5 PPM and dissolved gas content can be brought down to 0.1% to 0.2% by volume. Main Components:
System comprises of following main components:
- Inlet pump: Sucks oil either from transformer or from transformer oil storage tank and is a positive displacement pump.
- Heat exchanger: The oil sucked by the inlet pump is delivered into heat exchanger, which is equipped with electrical heater, capable of heating oil from 600 C to 700 C.
- Filter press: It is coarse filter or pre-filter for edge filter or membrane filter. Certain parts of sludge, free water and some parts of carbon are removed in this filter press.
- Ionic reaction column: When the oil is acidic it is passed through ionic reaction column where acidity of oil is reduced by exchange of ions.
- Edge filter/Fine filter: Oil is then moved into edge filter column for fine filtration, where suspended solids are removed effectively.
- Dehydrator/Degassing column: Dehydrator is an efficient means of reducing dissolved gas and moisture content from the oil. Further, it also removes volatile acids which may be present in the oil. Number of stages for degassing and type of vacuum pumping system depends on the moisture content
- Oil Discharge pump: It is specially designed pump which is used to pump out the oil collected in the dehydrator/degassing column.

Industrial Incinerators One of our most demanded products include incinerators. Our incinerators are made from high grade raw materials and are known for their quality and long life. These incinerators are well equipped with safety features as per international regulations. They are available in two types namely:
- Marine Incinerators
- Industrial and Hospital waste incinerators
Marine Incinerators:
Our marine incinerators are compact in size and are designed for burning shipboard waste and oil sludge. These dual fuel incinerators use diesel or light diesel oil as the main fuel for firing. When the required temperature is obtained inside the combustion chamber, the diesel fuel is stopped and the sludge in fed in the incinerator. As a result of hydrocarbon content in the sludge, it starts burning other solid waste. If there is higher percentage of water in the sludge then the temperature inside the combustion chamber will decline, as a result the diesel burner will restart and operate till the required temperature is attained. The working of the incinerator is controlled by microprocessor based control system, which provides unattended operation. Additionally the system also offers safety features, which are essential in international regulations. Construction
The combustion chambers are fabricated using premium grade materials material which can sustain temperatures upto 1400 deg. C. Between the combustion chamber and the outer shell of the incinerator, the air pockets are provided to enable circulation of fresh air. This ensures that the outer shell temperature is within the tolerable limits. Further, the incinerators are also equipped with properly selected induced draft fan, which maintains a negative pressure to avoid flash backs. Industrial and Hospital Waste Incinerators:
The only difference between the marine and the industrial & hospital waste incinerators is that the later is a single fuel incinerator and uses diesel or light diesel oil as a fuel. To achieve optimum combustion, two stage incinerators are used in certain application. In addition to that the incinerators can also be supplied with heat recovery systems for generation of steam of hot water.

Ionisation Cell and Collection Cell Our ionization cell and collection cell is a 2 stage electronic precipitators, works on the principle of charging the contaminants electrostatically and collecting them on a ground plate. In the first stage, the contaminated air is screened by a mechanical prefilter, to remove large particles. After that the air is passed thrugh ionization cell, which charges the particles in the air stream. These charged particles then enter the collection cell, where they are collected on a ground plate. There are two versions of collection cell:
- 6 mm gap (for oilfog with good drainage effect)
- 8 mm "Heavy Duty" cell to allow large absorption space and long maintenance cycles.
Our 6 mm gap "Standard" Collection cell module provides 20.0 m2 filter surface and the 8 mm gap "Heavy duty" collection cell module gives 14.25 m2 filter surface.
