Working principle:
 
Our UPS continuously monitors the power supply to measure the voltage. When the voltage drops below 160v or rises above 280v, the UPS disconnects the main supply and comes on battery within 10m. sec. If the voltage is within the range of (165v-275v) then the AVR (automatic voltage regulators) maintains the output voltage between 200v to 250v.
