Bleaching Powder

Bleaching powder evolves chlorine and hence used for bleaching coarse fabricslike cotton, wood pulp and paper.
It acts as a disinfectant and germicide since on exposure to atmosphere it liberates chlorine which destroys germs.
It cannot be used for bleaching delicate materials since bleaching action of chlorine is vigorous reaction.
It is also used for sterilizing water. It destroys germs due to its strong oxidizing action.
It is used in the preparation of javelle water which is the aqueous solution of sodium hypochlorite. It is obtained by reacting bleaching powder with sodium carbonate.

Sodium Hydrosulphite- KALALI

We cater superior quality Sodium Hydrosulfite in the industry. It is a white crystalline powder with a weak sulfurous odor. Sodium Hydrosulfite is a water-soluble salt, and can be used as a reducing agent in aqueous solutions. Sodium Hydrosulfite Solution is used in industrial dying processes, where an otherwise water-insoluble dye can be reduced into a water-soluble alkali metal salt. The reduction properties of sodium dithionite also eliminate excess dye, residual oxide, and unintended pigments, thereby improving overall color quality. It can also be used as bleach in paper pulp, cotton, wool, and kaolin clay.

Sodium Hydrosulfite Solution is used for water treatment, gas purification, cleaning, and stripping. It can also be used in industrial processes as a sulfonating agent or a sodium ion source.
