Diabolo Conveyor Machines

Automatic shot blasting machine with diabolo roller conveyor designed for treatment of pipes, tubes and gas cylinders. It can be used for cleaning from rust and scale or for removal of paint (reconditioning) as preparation before painting. This machine is the most convienent product to convey is a steel bar or tube. The angle of the diabolos determines the helix and the speed of the forward movement. A wide angle will increase the number of revolutions per foot of forward movement and conversely a narrow angle will decrease the numbers. The diabolo form of rotation and travering is used. The loading and unloading is by means of manipulators that pick up the object. The object for whose blasting the machbine may be used are steel bars and tubes. Machines for blasting tubes in a range of diameters . The diabolos are usually fitted with rubber tyres at the point of drive and will accommodate tubes from 1 inches to 8 inches without difficulty.

This is usually the limit of the range. For 8 inches diameter tubes and above another machine would be required where the drive would be by offset discs instead of diabolos.

The machine is effective for small production purposes. The barrel is usually in the order of 40 inches (1016mm)* 60 inches(1524mm).The machine is ideally suited for foundries. Sufficient height is obtained to feed the abrasive through an air wash separator system. The volume of air for ventilation of the barrel and separator is adjusted by means of blast gates and the volume of sand and contaminants in abrasive is kept to a minimum.

Endless Rubber Belt is used to convey the material. This Machine may be primarily utilised with vitreous enamelling trade and for the purpose of shot peening leaf springs. The belts are made out of heavily reinforced rubber. The narrow belt machines are usually fitted with a single blast wheel, the wider belt machines are usually arranged for two blast wheels which are fitted in an angled and slightly offset position.

There are various versions of this type of machine. Machines of swing - table design are made with table diameters from 54 inches (1371.6 inches) up to 126 inches (3200.4 mm).The machine can be used with one table together with one or two auxilliary tables. While the machine is blasting one load , an auxilliary table may be preloaded outside the machine , and the two tables exchanged after the completion of blasting. In addition to time saving in loading and unloading , spare table enables the work pieces to be turned over for further blasting when necessary.

A blast room is a larger version of a blast cabinet and the blast operator works inside the room. A blast room includes three of the four components of a blast cabinet: the containment structure, the abrasive blasting system and the dust collector. Most blast rooms have recycling systems ranging from manual sweeping and shoveling the abrasive back into the blast pot to full reclaim floors that convey the abrasive pneumatically or mechanically to a device that cleans the abrasive prior to recycling.

 

Basically a Blast Room Systemis made of:

  3. Abrasive Blaster S7-500 R or S7-1000 R
  4. Material handling device.

Synco offers modular-blasting rooms customized to your needs. Blasting room is suitable for blasting of variety of jobs. Small to large sized jobs with complex shapes and irregular surfaces can be manually blast cleaned / peened in the blast room. Blast room unit consists of Blast room, abrasive recovery system (manual, semi automatic and automatic), Compressed Air Assisted Pressure Blasting Machines (intermittent or continuous blasting) / Single or multiple wheel air less centrifugal-mechanical, dust extraction unit, and operator’s safety wears.

The unit will have two suction heads (Guns) to be manipulated manually for suction of abrasive (Grits/Shots/Alumina Oxide etc.) The suction heads will be fitted in flexible abrasive suction Hoses. The abrasive is sucked by vacuum suction draft created by vacuum pump through suction hose and discharged to cyclone by abrasive separator. The dust laden air is passed to cartridge type dust collector, where dust is arrested and clean air is discharged. Complete unit will be mounted on a trolley with wheels. It can be moved as per requirement. It will have four manual Jacks to lift the complete unit with trolley and provide stability during operation.

Suction Heads (Guns): Two nos. of specially designed suction heads will be provided. The suction heads have to be manually manipulated for suction of abrasive. Suction heads will have brushed at the suction inlet of head to provide the breathing air for suction of abrasive. Heads will be connected flexible suction hoses for transfer of media to abrasive separator. As per requirement, one or both suction heads can be made operative. If one suction head is made operative, it will have capacity to suck the abrasive with longer distance and greater depth. If both the heads are made operative, the suction capacity of vacuum pump is divided into two. However, both the heads can be made operative for 15 m hose length.

Abrasive Separator: A cyclone type abrasive separator will be provided to separate the abrasive from dust-laden air. A cyclone action inside the reclaimer separates the heavier abrasive particles from the air.

A blast cabinet is essentially a closed loop system that allows the operator to blast the part and recycle the abrasive. It usually consists of four components; the containment (cabinet), the abrasive blasting system, the abrasive recycling system and the dust collection. Based on direct pressure principle, the pressure blaster emits the abrasive at high velocity that cleans foreign material from surface rapidly. It is faster than SSB. Pressure blaster is recommended for removal of scale, rust, corrosion, coating, paints, cleaning of castings and forgings, surface preparation.


The operator blasts the parts from the outside of the cabinet by placing his arms in gloves attached to glove holes on the cabinet, viewing the part through a view window, turning the blast on and off using a foot pedal or treadle. Automated blast cabinets are also used to process large quantities of the same component and may incorporate multiple blast nozzles and a part conveyance system.

Based on induction -suction principle, suction blaster is recommend for cleaning & de buring small and medium size objets. It ensures uniform and continuous cleaning & finishing each time through automatic abrasive reclaimer unit. Suction blasting is useful fin cleaning of dies/moulds air craft maintenance etc.

 

Nozzles come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and materials. Tungsten carbide is the liner material most often used for mineral abrasives. Silicon carbide and boron carbide nozzles are more wear resistant and are often used with harder abrasives such as aluminum oxide. Inexpensive abrasive blasting systems and smaller cabinets use ceramic nozzles.
