Product ApplicationTapryl™ LCF 385
Friction Materials :
The powder form and linear structure allows easy metering and a rapid dissolving of Tapryl powders. In friction materials Tapryl LCF 385 ensures an excellent incorporation of the fillers and fibers as well as permanent elastification.
These compounds exhibit certain important properties.
- Increased co-efficient of friction.
- Excellent oil and fuel resistance.
- Reduce noise from brake pads.
- Improved resistance to heat ageing compared with other rubber.
Solutions of Tapryl LCF 385 are used for manufacturing adhesives, friction materials and seals. Here rubber acts as a binder and an adhesive.
Thermoplastic Modifier :
The rubber functions as a plasticizer and has a typical properties of an NBR & PVC modified with LCF 385 reduces abrasion, improves fatigue life and leads to a pleasing rubber like touch and appearance.
Important properties of such compounds are
- Excellent oil and fuel resistance.
- Permanent plastification.
- Very good flexibility after heat ageing.
Tapryl LCF 385 is compatible with PVC and similar polar polymers. The amount to be used depends on the properties required.
EVA Modification :
Tapryl LCF 385 is particularly suitable for modifying EVA. It allows very good stripping when the latter is used for the semi conductive layer of medium voltage cables. In addition of Tapryl LCF 385 to EVA, and similar polymers increases their melting point and thus allows greater extrusion. It also gives easy and rapid distribution of the fillers during compounding.
