Tata BlueScope Steel has three manufacturing facilities operational at Pune (Maharashtra), Bhiwadi (Rajastan) and Sriperumbudur (Tamil Nadu) as well as a new Coated Steel manufacturing facility coming up at Jamshedpur. The state-of-the-art coated steel facility at Jamshedpur has a Coil Painting Line of 1.5 LTPA capacity and Metal Coating line of 2.5 LTPA capacity (pic.).
The Hinjewadi facility, spread over approximately 30 acres manufactures, designs and supplies a range pre-engineered buildings and steel building products (pic.). The Bhiwadi facility, spread over an area of 9.03 acres, manufactures roof and wall cladding solutions (pic.). The Sriperumbudur facility spread over an area of 10 acres, manufactures light steel structures and roof & wall cladding solutions (pic.).
All the facilities have been architecturally designed to showcase the company’s leading product brands. The plant buildings are BUTLERTM buildings, that truly represent 100 years of experience in pre-engineered metal buildings. The LYSAGHT® roofs and wall claddings have been manufactured from COLORBOND® steel and ZINCALUME® steel that add to the aesthetic appeal of these buildings. All three beautifully landscaped facilities are well-equipped for rain water harvesting and sewage water treatment. The three facilities have been certified by Underwriters Laboratory Inc. for ISO 9001: 2008 and by M/s. UL MSS India for the ISO 14001:2004 & OHSAS 18001:2007 certifications

The Company brings to our valued customers in South Asia, the world's best technology for manufacturing coated steel, steel building’s solutions and related building products. Across the globe, building construction companies use steel, the widely used metal, for all building purposes. This has yet to find popularity in the Indian subcontinent. The Indian steel giant Tata Steel and the globally renowned Building’s Solutions provider BlueScope Steel Limited, therefore came together to promote the usage and application of steel in the construction industry in the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) region.
In the last four years, we have made progress in this area and have achieved a satistied customer base. Board of Directors
Mr. Sanjay Dayal - Chairman: Mr. Dayal commenced as Chief Executive Asia on 5 January 2009. He is responsible for leading BlueScope Steel's businesses in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Company's joint venture with Tata Steel in India. Prior to joining BlueScope Steel, Mr Dayal was General Manager, Manufacturing and Supply Chain for Orica Mining Services where he managed its Asia division. Mr Dayal is based at BlueScope Steel's Asia regional headquarters in Singapore.
Mr. Hemant M. Nerurkar Executive Director: Mr. Hemant M. Nerurkar has been Executive Director of India and South East Asia of Tata Steel Limited since April 9, 2009 and Managing Director since October 01, 2009.
A B. Tech in metallurgical engineering from the College of Engineering, Pune University, Mr. Nerurkar has attended several management courses in India and overseas, including CEDEP in France. He is associated with several professional organisations, such as Indian Institute of Metals, INSDAG and AIMA Governing Council among others.
Mr. Nerurkar joined Tata Steel on February 1, 1982 and has held various positions including Chief Metallurgist, Senior Deputy Manager (LD-2 Projects), deputy general manager (Steel & Primary Mills), General Manager (Marketing), Senior General Manager (Supply Chain) and Chief Operating Officer (Steel). He has over 35 years of experience in steel industry in various functions. Mr. Nerurkar is an executive with multifaceted experience ranging from project execution, manufacturing, Quality Control, Supply Chain and Marketing. He became the Vice President (Flat Products) in November 2002 and in September 2007 was appointed Chief Operating Officer (Steel). Mr. Anand Sen- Director: Mr. Anand Sen was born on 17th September 1959. He graduated in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 1981and pursued a Postgraduate Diploma Course in Business Management from IIM Kolkata in the year 1987.
Mr. Anand Sen started his career as Graduate Trainee at Tata Steel in the year 1981 and worked in Scientific Services initially. In early 1984, he was selected as Application Engineer and was posted to Mumbai. In July 2001 he was placed as Chief of Marketing & Sales - Flat Products. Mr. Sen has remained Vice President, TQM and Flat Products Division before being appointed Vice President, TQM & Shared Services from 1st April, 2010.
Mr. N. K. Misra- Director: Mr. N. K. Misra has done his Bachelor of Science from Lucknow University in 1976 and he is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Mr. Misra joined Tata Steel in 1981 as an Accounts Officer at Collieries Division and was further deputed to its associate Company ‘Kumardhubi Metal Casting and Engineering Limited’ in 1984. He ultimately rose to occupy the key position of CFO. He made a significant contribution in turning around the company during his tenure. Mr. Misra completed the General Management Programme from CEDEP/INSEAD, France.
Mr. Elias- Director: Mr. Elias joined BlueScope Steel as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in March 2008. He is responsible for finance, treasury, taxation, supply, investor relations, investments, audit and insurance. Prior to this, he was CFO and Director for Linfox Group and CFO, Director and General Manager Strategy and Business Development for TXU Australia. He began his career with Deloitte Consulting as a Senior Consultant. Mr. Elias is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Australian Institute of Company Directors

Creating a safe working environment for employees, contractors and customers is a vital part of the Company’s management strategy which will dovetail into Tata BlueScope Steel’s ultimate goal of Business Excellence. We support the value of Health Safety & Enivironment (HSE) across the Company with a dynamic process oriented towards eliminating injuries, ill-health and negative impact on the environment. We believe that Safety Excellence is a key driver of Sustainability.
The dedication to HSE is a value incorporated into the daily planning, design and implementation of processes. We continuously improve HSE processes to stay current with new issues, technology and regulatory requirements. Our focus is to integrate HSE into all our actions.
Most of Tata BlueScope Steel’s HSE programs are non-regulatory in nature and led by senior management. This demonstrates the importance that senior management gives to HSE. It is a part of our core values.
The Central Safety Committee (CSC) is the governing body for HSE management within the organisation. This committee is headed by the Managing Director and its members are leaders from all areas of operations. CSC leads the implementation and sustainability of HSE programs and ensures they are aligned with the overall strategy of our business .
As a result of efficient and effective HSE management, Tata BlueScope Steel maintains more reliable processes and has reduced injuries, ill-health and environmental impact. This is evident from the recently received recognition for Safety excellence – The BlueScope HSE awards and CII award.
There are a number of challenges facing the company in its quest of striving for Safety Excellence. These challenges include addressing external factors to prevent incidents caused due to human error and aligning the HSE performance of Contractors with that of Tata BlueScope Steel. This is being addressed with continuous training imparted on regular basis to the contractors.
Protection of the environment continues to be a major focus for the Company. In line with best practice, Tata BlueScope Steel has created an Environment Health & Safety (EHS) Policy that integrates the functions of Occupational Health, Industrial Safety and Environment.

Corporate Social Responsibility
Because We Care We at Tata BlueScope Steel pride ourselves on our role as a good corporate citizen. We actively participate in community initiatives and commit to making a positive contribution at all levels. We believe our actions should reflect the respect we embrace for the diverse range of people and the cultures with which we work.
Contribution for Tsunami Victims:In the tragic Tsunami crisis, we volunteered to build disaster houses for the quick rehabilitation of affected people. Metal buildings were donated to HABITAT, an organization engaged in Tsunami Reconstruction Initiative in India.
We handed over 10 metal buildings, which were converted into one community hall for multi-purpose usage. Another multi-storey building was also donated at Killai on January 30, 2006.
Polio Immunisation Campaign:In association with A. J. Medical Care, we have organised Pulse Polio Immunisation campaigns for underprivileged children of Hinjewadi and surrounding village areas. Our employees, who volunteered for this campaigns, along with the doctors visited the construction hutment area of Hinjewadi and surrounding areas to administer polio doses to the children.
Blood Donation Camps:We have been regularly organizing blood donation camps at all our plants across India. These camps attract employees from all the regions, who turn up in huge numbers for this noble cause. It has been heartening to notice that along with our personnel, we have also been able to encourage employees from neighbouring plants to also participate in large numbers. At Bhiwadi, employees from the neighbouring Caparo plant have set an example for participating in blood donation camps organized by us.
AIDS Marathon Run, Pune:We continue to extend our support to the fight against AIDS by participating in the annual Pune International Marathon – Race Against AIDS. Our employees from the Pune region are a constant feature in the 4.5 km long AIDS charity run since 2007, and have participated in large numbers sporting interesting slogans and placards conveying messages on AIDS.
Health Camps at Hinjewadi:On the occasion of Safety Week we regularly conduct free health check up camps at Hinjewadi in Pune. The health camp covers blood group test, dental check up, BP check up and eye check up. Last year around 340 students and teachers were covered under this health check up camp conducted at the Zilha Parishad Secondary High School, Hinjewadi by doctors from A.J.Medical foundation. Ms. Ranjana Chavan – Sarpanch Hinjewadi Grampanchayat, Santosh Shakhare - Member Grampanchayat, Mr. Suresh Hulawale, Dy. Sarpanch and Mr. Sakonde, Vice Principal of the school were present during the camp.
The company has also taken several steps for upliftment of villagers and societies near Hinjewadi. The company provides jobs to the local youths who have acquired ITI qualification and fulfill internal requirements of the company.
