Quality Test

The Catocene test in solid propulsion by SPL the Swiss Propulsion Laboratory. They have fired a rocket motor using TDS's Catocene. This is probably one of the bigger boosters ever fired by a private laboratory.

All engines slowly accumulate engine deposits as a result of the normal gasoline combustion process. Gasoline quality also can influence the rate of deposit build up. Some components of today’s highly technical, complex engines are very sensitive to these deposits. Left unchecked, they can build to a level that impairs performance. Additives are required to control deposit formation. Gasoline additives increase gasoline's octane rating or act as corrosion inhibitors or lubricators, thus allowing the use of higher compression ratios for greater efficiency and power. It’s a simple fact that gasoline combustion results in the formation of engine deposits, which in critical areas of the engine can cause performance problems.




Gasoline Antiknock Additives

A method of operating a spark ignition internal combustion engine with unleaded gasoline is disclosed wherein methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (MMT) is used as a primary antiknock compound and from about 5 to about 60 moles of benzoylacetone or methyl benzoylacetone per mole of manganese is used as a co-antiknock compound. These co-antiknock compounds are particularly suitable because they do not react with wet rusted steel in gasoline distribution systems, nor with terneplate surface coatings in automobile fuel storage tanks.

Octane boosters can be broken into three types based on their active ingredients. Methyl cyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (MMT) and ferosene are used in limited amounts in off-the-shelf boosters. The majority of commercial boosters use MMT. Another type of booster uses alcohols or aromatics as the active ingredient. Many tuners use toluene as a home-style octane booster. Toluene, an aromatic circular hydrocarbon chain, is a regular component of pump gas and is available in various grades at chemical supply stores.




Gasoline Cetane Booster

Cetane boosters only improve cold starting on diesel engines due to increase of flamability of the mixture at lower pressure and temperature. 2-Ethylhexyl nitrate (EHN) is the most widely used cetane number improver. It is sometimes also called octyl nitrate. EHN is thermally unstable and decomposes rapidly at the high temperatures in the combustion chamber. The products of decomposition help initiate fuel combustion and, thus, shorten the ignition delay period from that of the fuel without the additive.

Metal 19000mg contained in one kg of A818FM19000 and It is formulated specially is used for increasing the octane number of naphtha, usually from RON65 up to RON90 directly. But it contains much metal in it, so this is only used in the refineries that don’t have strict limit for metal contained the gasoline. Fe.1350mg contained in one kg of A818F1350, and It is formulated specially for the requirement of increasing around RON10 octane number.
