Network Sync Audit Services We offer network sync audit- The aim of this network synchronization audit (sync audit) is the quality verification of the network clock distributed by SDH as well as 2 Mbit/s PCM lines within the Customer network. But due to the limited time frame to perform long term measurements the results can only deliver a snapshot of the current situation for parts of the network. Basically this reflects the performance of the whole network. Generally two measurements were made, a short term measurement to evaluate jitter and a long term measurement to evaluate wander. The gathered datas were then compared to the network requirements as specified by ITU-T. The ITU-T requirements for traffic lines used for Network synchronization (Sync Audit) are specified in terms of MTIE and TDEV with limits set over a range of values. These limits are represented by a mask which the measurement results should not exceed. Primary reference timing signals are required by ITU-T to meet a frequency accuracy of 1 x 10-11. All synchronization signals should be traceable to PRC’s which must meet this frequency accuracy.

MTIE and TDEV measurements for up to 1000 seconds can be easily performed without a GPS reference.
