Short Path (Molecular) Distillation Unit


Short Path or Molecular Distillation Units are used for distillation of heat sensitive products under high vacuum, up to 0.001 mbar.  As the name suggests, the special construction of the machine allows condensation of the vapours within evaporator body travelling just a short path thus reducing the pressure drop.

Careful design of the entire system is required to ensure low boiler free material entering the high vacuum stage. The system can be in configured in multiple stages, operating at different vacuum level depending on the different boiling point range of the feed components.

 

Used for the distillation of bulk drug, natural and synthetic vitamins, esters, epoxy resins, plasticizers, fatty acids, tocopherol, glycerides, concentration of natural extracts, silicone oils, recovery of base oil, lub oil, transformer oil.

 

We have pilot plant facility of this system to do feasibility study.
