Single conductor heating cables are extremely thin cables for use under tile, wooden or laminated floors. They maintain the aesthetics of the room and does not occupy any space in the room and due to there extremely thin construction are an ideal choice for renovations of existing floors and can be used even in rooms with complicated shapes. They are series type cables with a single conductor and two cold lead one at each end of the cable. The cable is provided with an earth shield and has double insulation for extra protection. This is the best option for cost conscious users. It needs an experienced installer for installation .

Low EMF twin heating cables are a bit expensive than the single wire cables but are fast becoming popular because of two main factors:- 1)Ease of installation: The twin cable has a return wire due to which there is only one cold tail at only one end. The other end is sealed. This makes installation extremely easy as you don’t need to bother about the other end coming back to the junction box which is the main problem area in single wire cable laying. You just have to lay the cable and leave the other end where ever it ends. 2)Health:- In many countries the research about effect of electromagnetic fields(EMF) emitted by electrical appliances on Human Body is going on and it is believed that the EMF generated by the cables will be harm full to human body in long run. However these theories have not yet been proved and the EMF generated by single wire configuration cables is less than the EMF generated by your Television sets but still due to wrong beliefs many people are afraid to use heating cables. Twin wire configuration is an ideal solution for them due to its return wire the direction of current in two wire is opposite and hence resultant EMF is zero or negligible. Floor heating mats single wire construction are made by fixing single wire heating cable over a Glass fiber mesh using a double sided self adhesive tape maintaining a fixed spacing between the cables. This tapes one side fixes the cable over the mesh and the other side is used to fix the mat onto the floor surface during installation. In cable installation the whole room has to be marked so that cable is laid at equal spacing and chances of wrong spacing are very high if proper care is not taken. This problem is removed by heating mat as spacing is factory determined and now only task of the installer is to roll the mat on the floor surface to cover the entire surface and he is done. This is the ideal product to be sold as do-it-yourself (DIY) kits as the installation is very easy and does not required very skilled person.

This is the most premium product which can be installed most easily. It is made by using Twin heating cables and attaching them over glass fiber mesh. The only problem left with single wire heating mat was that the second cold tail has to be brought back to the junction box and hence needs pre planning of layout plan, but in twin mat since there is only one cold tail you don’t need to worry about that and just lay that mat to cover the floor and end portion remains where it ended. But due to so many properties it is the most expensive product but still is fast becoming the most preferred product and DIY kit made of these mats are selling like Hot cakes.

The in-concrete cables are used under concrete floors in conservatories etc and in storage heating applications. Special care has been taken to chose there design using PTFE insulation as primary insulation to ensure lifetime working of the system and the outer sheathing is made of hard High temperature PVC which can withstand the hard concrete material and ensures that the cable is robust enough to bear the mechanical strains of installation in-concrete. The Higher linear wattage is taken to improve the response time of the system.
