All DataTwist 1200 cables feature a small diameter (less than 0.2 in.) for higher density installations – especially valuable for runs inside conduit. Coaxial Cable![]() Coaxial cables are perhaps the most common, basic and easy-to-understand cables. Basically, they are used to transmit electrical energy, or signals, from one location to another: to connect a source to a load, such as a transmitter to an antenna. Coaxial cable (coax) is typically identified or classified according to its impedance or RG-type; for example, a 50-ohm coax or an RG-8 type. A coaxial cable consists of two conductors separated by a dielectric material. The center conductor and the outer conductor, or shield, are configured in such a way that they form concentric cylinders with a common axis (hence co-axial). The center conductor may be made of various materials and constructions. Most common constructions are solid or seven-strand conductors. Solid conductors are used in permanent, infrequently handled or low flex applications and stranded conductors used in flexible cable applications. Common materials include copper, tinned or silver plated copper, copper clad steel and copper clad aluminum. Plated copper is used to aid in solderability of connectors or to minimize corrosion effects. Because of a phenomenon known as skin-effect, copper clad materials may be used in higher frequency applications. Insulation, or dielectric materials, are used to provide separation between the conductors. It is desirable that the material has stable electrical characteristics (dielectric constant and dissipation factor) across a broad frequency range. The most common materials used are polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). Flat Cable![]() Belden® Flat cables are designed using the same expertise and design sophistication that made Belden a leader in round cable. Our extensive line, typically used for electronic interconnect applications, includes Gray Ribbon, Rainbow, VariTwist® and Shielded and Jacketed Flat cable options. The simplicity of flat cable design, with its parallel conductor geometry, eliminates many of the common sources of wiring error and malfunction. Registration of the conductors is one-to-one with the terminating connector or board so that proper contact assignment is almost automatic. Flat cables also fold and bend readily, conforming to the mounting area, and they fasten easily with clamps, adhesive, or double-faced tape. Since the conductors are visible and in a fixed position within the dielectric coding, inspection and circuit tracing are simplified. And, because the conductor spacing is fixed and the geometry of the cable is constant, the electrical characteristics such as impedance, capacitance, inductance, time delay, crosstalk and attenuation are consistent. Ringmaster Appliance![]() The Trapeze Networks® RingMaster Appliance is a highly-scalable, rack-mount management platform. It comes fully-loaded with the latest version of RingMaster® Enterprise, Trapeze’s award-winning wireless LAN management software. Enabling rapid deployment with minimal configuration, it allows large enterprises to manage their wireless networks without ever worrying about upgrading the management platform as the network scales over time. It includes the award-winning RingMaster application and features enterprise-class hardened hardware with an optimized Linux-based operating system. Because of these optimizations, the RM-200 is virtually maintenance free and dramatically reduces operational cost. Fiber Optic Cable![]() Optical fiber systems offer many benefits: high bandwidth and transmission speed, the potential for network growth, extended reach, fault tolerance, greater data security and support for Gigabit and multi-Gigabit protocols and networked applications. Belden FiberExpress Solutions meet or exceed all applicable TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC and IEEE standards – and offer reduced design complexity, increased flexibility, rapid installation, and cost-effective pricing. Paired Cable![]() Belden paired cable products are manufactured in a variety of gage sizes, dimensions, insulation materials, shielding configurations and jacketing materials - including Plenum and High-Temperature versions to meet the technical requirements of many different types of systems. Paired cables allow balanced signal transmission, which results in lower crosstalk through common mode rejection. Due to the improved noise immunity of twisted pairs, they generally permit higher data speeds than multi-conductor cables. Hook-Up And Lead Wire![]() Belden® has been a leading manufacturer of hook-up and lead wire for nearly one century. The basic elements of this type of cable follow: Conductors Insulation Materials Teflon® is a fluorinated thermoplastic with outstanding thermal, physical, and electrical properties. Teflon is generally restricted to applications requiring its special characteristics because its basic resin and processing costs are relatively high. Molded Cable AssembliesBelden® molded cable assemblies are designed for long life and reliable performance in a variety of input/output (I/O) and keyboard interface applications. Among the many features of the cable assemblies are these performance-enhancing attributes: Shielding Multi Conductor CableBelden® multi-conductor cables are manufactured in a wide variety of gage sizes, dimensions, insulation materials, shielding configurations and jacketing materials - including Plenum and High-Temperature versions. These cables meet the technical requirements of many different types of systems. In fact, Belden offers one of the broadest lines of UL Listed, NEC and CEC multi-conductor cables available from any single source. Applications for multi-conductor cables include computers, communications, instrumentation, sound, control, audio and data transmission.
