Expedition

The day’s trek is quite tough and stressful as the walking distance is quite long and it is mostly ascending up the mountain. While on the way you will enjoy some nice landscapes and the view of the Stok village from certain point of the trek. Then finally, a camp at the base camp with the height of 4400m above the sea level.

The main purpose of submitting this peak is to enjoy the beautiful views of the turquoise blue lake in the midst of the high snowy mountain peaks, and the flowery valleys lying below the peak. And the most important is to feel on the top of the world. The climbing up is really tough but you will surely enjoy the fragrant flowery plain along the trail. This peak is one of the highest peaks around the plateaus mountain ranges. The adventure trek can be done within 4 days.

 

Best period: July to end of September Equipment: Ice exe, Crampon, Rope, Jummer and piton. Transportation: jeep will be used.

 

Day 01: Leh to Tsomoriri

 

After an early break fast, a jeep will drop you at Korzok, which is 225 km from Leh and is the head quarter of the area. Korzok village is on the bank of the lake and the Korzok monastery stands mightily overlooking the village and the lake. You will reach there in the afternoon and stay over night at Tsomoriri (4450m)

 

Day 02: Tsomoriri to base camp (5/6 hrs.)

 

The days trek starts early in the morning along the trail that first enter into the Korzok Phu Valley, then stats ascending up the slope among some of the herbal flowers whose color and the fragrance filled the valley. Then as we go around toward the back of the peak, some rocky path makes difficult for the horses. The base camp of the peak is quite windy and the camping area is rocky too.

 

Day 03: Base camp to Mentok Kangri (6251 mts) (06 hrs.)

 

The trek starts at around 02:00am after having breakfast and then start ascending towards Mentok Kangri. To climb up along that scary slope of adjacent peak, probably above 6250 meters is technically and quite tough. But be sure that you should submit the top of peaks before sunrise. When you are at the top of the much-anticipated peak, it offers spectacular view of Mt Kharlung and at the other side, Mt Karchu and Mt Lungser with all those beautiful meadowy valleys and the blue lake all lying beneath. After enjoying the view, slowly and steadily get down towards base camp before it’s getting too late.


Day 04: Rest and explore around the lake

 

The day is rest to explore around the Lake and the village. Tsomoriri Lake is famous for its clear blue lake with the nomadic families settled around the lake. The local people consider the lake sacred. This lake is the breeding ground for numerous species of bird like Bar Headed Goose, great Crested Grebe, the Brahmin duck etc. Then visit the Korzok monastery before you leave this memorable trek.

 

Day 05: Tsomoriri – Tsokar-Leh.

 

Early in the morning, the jeep will pick you up and drive on to Polokkonka pass (13500 ft) and visit Tsokar (a small Lake). The place is famous for wild Asses and the nomadic settlements.  From there, short drive brings you on national highway route (Leh-Manali). Continue driving towards Leh via Taklang Pass (5350mts, the second highest motor able pass in the world. Arrive Leh in the evening and check into you Hotel.

Kangyatze is one of the famous spot for mountaineers and the adventurous people. The peak is higher than the surrounding mountain ranges. The way up the peak is easier than the other mountains and once you are on the top you would be stuck with wonder as you see the mountain ranges and the beautiful green valleys lying beneath.

Submitting the Nun-Kun peak is one of the toughest and the most technical around the Himalayas. Many mountaineers have submitted the Kun but till today, no one had ever heard of submitting this high peak.

Stok Kangri (6123 Mts)

Stok Kangri is one of the most preferred destinations of those who enjoy expedition. The peak of Stok Kangri is 6123m above the sea level and is covered by snow glacier for the whole year. The temperature of the mountain is below o dc and the expeditious people should have warm clothes and the other requirements.

 

The ascending should be started early in the morning at around 01:00 o’clock so that the trekkers won’t face any problem. Once you are on the top of the peak, you will surely feel that you are on the top of the world. Then one can enjoy the beautiful view of Indus Valley, Markha Valley, the Zanskar Ranges, the Karakoram Ranges and the Great Himalayas. Then descending down the peak are also technical and only the experienced and professionals guide can lead you.

 

Equipment: Ice exe, Crampon, Rope, Jummer and piton. Transportation: horse to supply luggage and equipment.

 

 

Day 01: Stok to Mankarmo: (4/5 hrs.)

 

A jeep will drop you at the Stok trekking point and start ascending up along the winding trail to Mankarmo. This trek takes you through some of the beautiful landscapes of the Stok Range. Series of chortens and small Mani walls tamed these wild mountains. Then finally you’ll reach the camp at Mankarmo at the height of around (4350m) from the sea level.

 

Day 02: Mankarmo to Base (3/4 hrs.)

 

After the breakfast, the trek starts ascending up to the base camp of Stok Kangri. The day’s trek is quite tough and stressful as the walking distance is quite long and it is mostly ascending up the mountain. While on the way you will enjoy some nice landscapes and the view of the Stok village from certain point of the trek. Then finally, a camp at the base camp with the height of 4400m above the sea level.

 

Day 03: Submit Stok Kangri (6123mts)

 

The staffs will wake you up with bed tea at around 02:00am in the morning and after having breakfast, start climbing up to submit the Stok Kangri (6123m) before sunrise. The view from the top is spectacular. Take some time to enjoy the views of the beautiful Indus Valley, the Zanskar Range, the Karakoram Range and the Great Himalayan Range. The descending part is also as tough and the trekkers are advised to follow the instructions of the guide. On your arrival at the base camp, the staff will serve you hot lunch and then start descending down to Mankarmo overnight at camp.

 

Day 04: Mankarmo to Stok trekking point

 

After having breakfast we walk down up to the Stok trekking point where our jeep will be waiting for us to pick up and visit to Stok Palace & Museum – the royal residence of the king of Stok, the museum has a rich collection of Ancient Ladakhi artifacts which includes old Thankas, precious stone, arms and armory, the queen necklaces and crown of the king of Ladakh among others. After we drive back to Leh for overnight stay at the hotel.
