Tapflo CTV - With Focus On Safety And Running Economy [27-NOV-02]
Vertical pump for transport and circulation of liquids in tanks.
Tapflo CTV is a new centrifugal pump for vertical fitting to e.g. drums and tanks where liquid needs to be circulated or transported. Taplo CTV has been developed for such operations as the surface treatment industry and other industries where corrosive liquids are handled. The seal-less design of the pump, together with the position of the motor above the surface of the liquid, simplifies maintenance and provides the pump with a long working life and good running economy.
The new centrifugal pump from Tapflo is fitted vertically in the tank and because the motor is positioned above the surface of the liquid, it is well protected from corrosive liquids. Tapflo CTV can be used to replace submersible pumps frequently used today in order to circulate liquids.
Tapflo CTV is made of three different materials; polypropylene (PP), PVDF and acid-proof steel, to meet all industrial demands. Moreover, the pump is available in an Atex-approved version, for use in explosive environments.
“The surface treatment industry is a typical target group for our new pump because they handle many aggressive liquids,” says Henrik Borisch, information manager at Tapflo AB. “The design of the pump, with its closed system, eliminates such things as leakage risk. This means it is safe to use and that toxic liquids can be transported safely without affecting working conditions.”
Minimises the risk of downtime
The positioning of the pump and motor make these easy to maintain and provides good running economy. The seal-less design and the simple day-to-day maintenance routines minimise the risk of downtime.
“In powerfully corrosive liquid environments, a submersible pump seldom survives longer than six months,” says Henrik Borisch. “But with out new top fitted vertical pump working life can be multiplied five, perhaps even ten times, and this adds to good running economy.
Stainless steel version for difficult conditions
For very difficult industrial conditions, where chemical treatments or electrolyte surface treatments that include the use of nickel chrome, Taplo have developed a pump version in polished acid-proof steel. Even caustic soda can be pumped with the new acid proof CTV pump version.
Tapflo CTV is manufactured in polypropylene (PP) and PVDF for applications within e.g. the paper industry and in two acid-proof versions, one being bright finished. Pump capacity is between 10.2 and 34 cubic metres of liquid per hour, depending on pump model.
