Chlorinated Paraffin (CPs) & Chlorinated Paraffin Wax are straight-chain hydrocarbons that have been chlorinated. Chlorinated paraffin is classified according to their carbon-chain length and percentage of chlorination, chlorination from approximately 35% to greater than 70% by weight. Fully Refined Paraffin is made by chlorinating paraffin fractions obtained from petroleum distillation. These hydrocarbons are reacted with chlorine resulting in chlorinated paraffin of different carbon chain lengths with varying degrees of chlorination. Thus chlorinated paraffin is a group of complex chemical substances and is manufactured in batch process.
