Wandfluh poppet valves can be used anywhere absolutely leak tight closing functions are important. Completely sealed loading, gripping and clamping operations are all important functions which Wandfluh poppet valves can perform. Cartridge typ poppet valves can be neatly accommodated in valve blocks. From a mechanical and functional point of view, poppet valves can replace slide valves at any time. NG3-mini valves are used where a light,compact unit is needed.



Proportional Directional Control Valves

Direct controlled proportional directional control valve with integrated amplifier electronics and spool position control in flange construction NG6. The valve is designed for operating pressures of 350 bar and for a maximum volume flow of 40 l/min. Four different volume flow levels are available.


The valve possesses an integrated position control. With the spool position sensor (LVDT), the actual position of the valve spool is continuously recorded and brought into line with the set-point value transmitted in an analogue manner. With this, the hysteresis can be minimized and the dynamic characteristics massively improved in comparison with conventional proportional directional valves.


Thanks to the integrated amplifier electronics, the compact construction and the good protection against environmental influences, the valve is highly suitable both for applications in industry as well as in mobile hydraulics.


The parametrization takes place through a RS 232-interface by means of a menu-controlled parametrization - and diagnostics software.


The data are stored in a non-volatile memory. Settings once elaborated can be reproduced and transferred without any problem, also following an electric power failure.



Digital Controller Modules

The snap-on, digital controller modules is characterized by a compact construction. It is highly suitable for driving proportional valves and for controlling a preset pressure, volume flow or a position. Apart from the 24VDC-version, a 12VDC-version is available.


The module is available as basic controller and as enhanced controller. The set-point position is preset externally (e.g., with a potentiometer). In case of the Enhanced controller, the set-point position additionally can be preset by means of freely adjustable traveling profiles. As actual value transmitters, analogue (in case of the Enhanced controller also digital -) measuring systems can be directly connected to the controller module. The Basic controller has a 10-bit -, the Enhanced controller a 16-bit resolution of the analogue inputs. The parametrization takes place through an USB - interface by means of a menu-controlled parametrization - and diagnostics software.



Proportional Screw- In Cartridge Valves

The exchangeable coil significantly simplifies the logistics, because the solenoid coil can also be retrofitted. The various alternatives make the proportional screw-in cartridge a very flexible system. Different plug - voltage alternatives are available ex stock and are complemented with respect to individual adaptations - with the customary Wandfluh flexibility.


In addition, the performance of the valves has been increased by the improved solenoid coil. Therefore also ambient temperatures of up to 70°C can be accepted without any performance loss. With the improvement of the corrosion protection of the solenoid coil, depending on the version, the valves achieve a salt-spray resistance of over 500h.


Available are valves with the standard cavities M22 and M33 in accordance with ISO 7789. Pressure relief valves are available as direct operated and pilot-operated versions up to volume flows of over 230 l/min and pressures of up to 350 bar. Apart from the optimised proportional throttle for volume flows of up to 63 l/min, the All-In-One valve QSPPM33 (tight seating volume flow controller) with mechanically preset Imin is in the Wandfluh product range. By the preset Imin the series spread of the valves is reduced to a minimum, in order to guarantee a simplification of the valve commissioning. Typical applications for the qualitatively high-grade proportional screw-in cartridge valves are: - Sensitive adjustment of pressure, resp., volume flow - Speed control of hydro-motors - Cylinder control - and positioning - Individual adjustment of clamping - and tensioning force.


Throttle Valve Sandwich Construction

DESCRIPTION
Throttle valve sandwich type NG6 with interface acc. to ISO 4401-03. The throttle valve is available in two different variants, namely the standard and the precision throttle (FD). Version FD only avaiable for sandwiches with restriction in A, B, or AB. The turning knob is made from aluminium, all other parts made of steel, have been phosphated.

FUNCTION
Using the precision thread adjusting spindle, the restriction of the volume flow can be continuously adjusted. With the spindle fully screwed home, the volume flow is zero, and a metallic edge makes a leak-tight closure. The throttle effect is produced by an annular gap which can be varied in size, or by means of a triangular edge. Because of the nature of the design, there is only a small amount of leakage. APPLICATIONSandwich type throttle valves can be used anywhere where volume flows have to be infinitely controlled in both directions without taking pressure fluctuations into account. These sandwich valves are ideal for machine tools and also all types of handling operation. 

Attention:The throttle spindle in case of ADRP, ADRT and ADRPT is not secured against being unscrewed.  



Explosion Proof Solenoid Operated Spool Valve

FUNCTION

The energised solenoid shifts the spool into the corresponding position.

  • 4/2-way impulse valve detented: Two solenoids and 2 detented positions. With the solenoid deenergised the spool remains in the last switched position.
  • 4/3-way spool valve: Two solenoids and 3 positions, spring centered. With the solenoids deenergised the spool returns to the  center position by spring force.
  • 4/2-way spool valve: One solenoid and 2 positions, spring offset. With the solenoid deenergised the spool returns to the offset position by spring force.

APPLICATION
Solenoid operated spool valves are mainly used to control the direction of movement and retain hydraulic cylinders and motors. The direction of flow through the valve is determined by the spool symbol. Switching performance and possible leakage must be taken into consideration when designing a system. These valves are suitable for hazardeous areas in off-shore and ship-building applications as well as in chemical, oil and gas industry.



Drain Valve Sandwich Construction

DESCRIPTION
Drain valve NG4-Mini with interface acc. to Wandfluh standard. Sandwich design. Valves for 3 flow directions are available. The sandwich body is made from phoshated steel. The turn knob from anodised aluminium.

FUNCTION
A spherical, hardened clasing element seals the pressurised part leak free against tank port. By turning the knob the connection to tank will be opened. Knob may be bloched in any position by a set screw.

APPLICATION
Drain valves are mainly used in systems with an accumulator wich need to be depressurised for revisions. Amang the benefits from NG4 Mini sandwich elements are flexibility in system lay-out, small space requirement and low weight. 



Spool Valve Pneumatically Operated

FUNCTIONWhen actuated, the pneumatic head displaces the valve spool to the corresponding switching position.• 4/2-way inpulse spool valve: 2 pneumatic head and 2 locking switch positions. When the pneumatic head is not actuated, the spool is held by the lock in the corresponding switching position.• 4/3-way spool valve: 2 pneumatic heads and 3 switching position. When the air head is not actuated, the spool is switched back to the centre position via the springs.• 4/2-way spool valves: 1 pneumatic head and 2 switching positions. When the pneumatic head is not actuated, the spool is switched back to the home position by the spring.

APPLICATIONPneumatically operated spool valves are mainly used to control the direction of movement and for retaining hydraulic cylinders and motors. The direction of movement is determinet by the position of the valve spool and its symbol. Pneumatically operated valves are particularly suitable for use in areas where there is a risk of explosion in the chemical or mining industries and also in industrial installations where compressed air is used. 



Modular Poppet Valve (NG6)

DESCRIPTIONPoppet valve, flanged design NG6, available as a 2/2 or 3/2-way valve (normally open or closed) and as a 3/4-way valve (normally closed). The central functioning element of all directly controlled poppoet valves in the NG6 series is the poppet valve cartridge NG6. The solenoids correspond to VDE standard 0580.

Important: When commissioning, the valvemust be vented under pressure (max. 2revolutions of screw E).

FUNCTIONThe valve is direct operated by a wet pin push type solenoid which in turn either opens or closes the poppet. The design of the poppet spool, which is equal in surface area on both sides and thus pressure balanced, means there are no undue opening and closing hydraulic forces. Due to this the oil flow through the poppet valve is possible in both directions. The valve is tight in both flow directions.

Pressure Relief Screw-in Cartridge

DESCRIPTION: Direct operated pressure relief valve as screw-in cartridge with a thread M22x1,5 and cavity according to ISO draft 7789. The valve is available in two different setting versions: Key setting "S" and turning knob setting "D". Key adjustment "S" is also avaiable with cover, see data sheet 2.0-50. Three standard pressure levels are available: 63, 210 and 315 bar. The cartridge body made of steel is galvanized and therefore rust-protected.

FUNCTION: When the set operating pressure is reached, the poppet spool opens and connects the protected line with the return line to the tank. By means of the adjusting mechanism, the poppet spool is pressed onto a seat which is screwed into the lower cartridge opening by a helical spring. The poppet spool is opened and closed hydraulically dampened. This makes the operation of this cartridge very stable. Thanks to the poppet/spool principle and the direct operation, these pressure relief valves are rapid acting and free of leakage oil. The reduced diameter of the seat produces a higher pressure drop and a lower flow throughput performance than pilot operated valves of the same size.

APPLICATION: For limiting the operating pressure in hydraulic systems by releasing the oil from the protected oil line P (1) to the outlet/tank return line T (2). The screw-in cartridge is very suitable for mounting in control blocks and is built into the Wanduh miniature hydraulics NG4, NG6 and NG10 as a functional element in sandwich style plates (vertical combination) and ange mounted valves (please refer to the separate data sheets in register 2.1). Stepped tools are available for making the receptacle bores in steel and aluminium (Hire or purchase). Please refer to the data sheets in register 2.13. 

Attention: Should therefore not be utilized anymore in applications with periodically changing direction of ow. 



Proportional Pressure Relief Explosion Proof Screw Cartridge

DESCRIPTION: For explosion-hazard zones ATEX, IECEx and GOST Ex certified Direct operated proportional pressure relief valve as a screw-in cartridge with a thread M22x1,5 for cavity according to ISO 7789. Activated with Wand fluh-explosion-proof-solenoid. The cartridge body made of steel is zinc coated for corrosion protection.

Solenoid coil in acc. with directive 94/9/EC (ATEX) for explosion-hazard zones.The flameproof enclosures (acc. to EN/IEC 60079-1/31 and EN/IEC 61241-1) prevents an explosion in the interior from getting outside. The design prevents a surface temperature capable of igniting.

FUNCTION: The valve limits the pressure in port P (1) and reliefs the volume flow to tank port T (2). The back pressure in T (2) inuences the pressure in P (1). When the operating pressure set by the proportional solenoid is reached, the poppet spool opens and connects the protected line to the tank T (2). These pressure relief valves are built according to the differential spool principle and are therefore very sensitive adjustable over the whole pressure range and also suitable for systems with extremely low minimum pressures.

APPLICATION: These valves are suitable for applications in explosion-hazard zones, open cast and also in mines. The valve has its application in hydraulic systems, in which the pressure frequently has to be changed. Pressure Relief Valve Screw-in Cartridge

DESCRIPTION : Pilot operated pressure relief valve as scre win cartridge with a thread M22x1,5 and cavity according to ISO draft 7789. The valve is available in two different setting versions: Key setting "S" and turning knob setting "D". Key adjustment "S" is also available with cover. Three standard pressure levels are available: 63, 160 and 350 bar. The cartridge body made of steel is galvanized and therefore rust-protected.

FUNCTION :When the set operating pressure is reached, the main spool opens and connects the protected line with the return line to the tank. These pressure relief valves consist of a main-and a pilot operation system integrated into the cartridge. The pilot operation is a direct operated pressure relief valve which acts on the main system. The helical spring of the pilot operation can be easily set to the desired operating pressure. Pilot operated pressure relief valves can be very sensitively adjusted and are suitable for large oil flows and high pressure. The very limited play of the hardened spool results in a limited oil leakage.

APPLICATION : For limiting the operating pressure in hydraulic systems by releasing the oil from the protected oil line P (1) to the outlet/tank return line T (2). The adjustment takes place by means of a Wandfluh proportional solenoid (VDE-standard 0580). The cartridge body made of steel is zinc coated and therefore rust-protected. The solenoid coil is zinc/nickel-coated.

FUNCTION: When the operating pressure set by the proportional solenoid is reached, the main spool opens and connects the protected line with the return line to the tank. The back pressure in T (2) in sequences the pressure in P (1). This pilot operated proportional pressure relief valve can be adjusted very sensitively and is suitable for large volume flows and high pressures. To control the valve, Wandfluh proportional amplifiers are available.

APPLICATION: The valve has its application in hydraulic systems, in which the pressure frequently has to be changed. The facility for electric remote controlling of the valve in conjunction with process control systems enables economic problem solutions with repeatable sequences. Installation of the screw-in cartridge in control blocks as well as in the Wandfluh sandwich plates (vertical stacked systems) and arrange valves of the NG4-Mini, NG6 and NG10 types.

Throttle Valve Screw-in Cartridge

DESCRIPTION: Manually adjustable, M22x1,5 screw-in cartridge throttle valve in accordance with cavity ISO 7789. The cartridge body made of steel is galvanized and therefore rust-protected.

FUNCTION: A fine tread on the adjustable throttle reveals an annular gap. The adjusted throttle cross section produces a pressure drop which determines the volume flow. The volume flow is zero when the throttle is screwed in (the metal sealing edge seals completely). The valve flow is bidirectional.

APPLICATION: Throttle valves can be used anywhere where volume flows can be infinitely controlled in both directions without taking pressure fluctuations into account.



Proportional Throttle Valve Screw-in Cartridge

DESCRIPTION : Direct operated proportional throttle valve. Thread M33x2 and cavity in accordance with ISO 7789. Two flow ranges are available. The volume flow is adjusted by a Wand fluh proportional solenoid (VDE standard 0580). Progressive increase and decrease of volume flow and reduced hysteresis are characteristics of this valve. The cartridge body is made of steel. Its special surface coating protects the outside against corrosion and reduces friction of the control spool. The solenoid is zinc coated.

FUNCTION : The force controlled proportional solenoid running in the fluid acts directly on the control spool which opens or closes the triangular shaped throttling notches in the cartridge body. The throttle opening, and therefore the flow volume, changes proportionally to the current absorption of the proportional solenoid. When the solenoid is without current, the control spool is held in the closed position by a spring. To control the valve proportional amplifiers are available from Wandfluh.

APPLiCATION : Proportional throttle valves are suitable for precise feed control systems. Very sensitive opening and closing characteristics allow smooth control of movements in stationary or mobile installations, e.g. machine tools, public vehicles. Installation of the screw-in cartridge in control blocks as well as in the Wandfluh sandwich plates (vertical stacked systems) and flange valves of the NG10 size.



Digital Amplifer and Controller

DESCRIPTION: Digital amplifier electronics, with four or eight solenoid outputs. They are characterised by a robust and compact construction. The extensive supply voltage range enables the driving of 12VDC- and  24VDC- devices. The parameterisation takes place through the menu controlled parameterisation and diagnostics software «PASO» of Wandfluh (USB-interface). The electronics are available as an amplifier-and as a controller function with optional CANinterface (according to CANopen® DSP-408). 

FUNCTION: The electronics have four, resp., eight pulse width modulated current outputs with superimposed dither signal. The solenoid outputs can also be parameterised for black /white solenoids. The two, resp. four analogue- and digital inputs as well as the two digital outputs are individually programmable. With the device, control- and closed-circuit control tasks can very easily be solved. The CAN-connection enables the reading-in of command value- and feedback value signals as well as the parameterisation directly through the field-bus.

APPLICATION: Screwed on to a metallic surface, the amplifier electronics are used primarily in the mobile field because of their compact construction, protection class IP67, extensive operating temperature range and the selected plug-in connection.Customer-specific requirements can easily be implemented.



Pressure Reducing Valve Screw-in Cartridge

DESCRIPTION: Pilot operated 3-way pressure reducing valve of the screw-in cartridge type with thread M22x1,5 for cavity in according to ISO 7789. This valve reduces the inlet pressure to a adjustable outlet pressure. The integrated pressure relief function prevents the reduced pressure from being exceeded as a result of external forces. The valve is available with 2 types adjustments. A cover is also available for key adjustment. There are 3 pressure stages to choose from. The steel cartridge body and adjustment spindle are galvanised. The quality of this product is redirected in the good performance data and design.

FUNCTION: The spool, located in the pilot operated main section of the valve, is held in the reset position by a spring. The connection to the consumer is fully open. With the pilot stage which is designed as relief valve, reduced pressure is adjustable. It opens when the set value is reached. As a result, a pilot volume flows through the nozzle in the spool. The resultant pressure difference displaces the spool towards the spring. The volume flow is throttled in the valve inlet and the reduced pressure is controlled. If forces acting on the actuator allow the reduced pressure to exceed the set value, the spool is displaced until the valve inlet closes and the reduced pressure port is being connected to tank. The pressure increase is then limited.

APPLICATION: Pressure reducing valves are used to keep the pressure constant in the consumer, irrespective of pressure fluctuations on the supply side. If there are several consumers, the pressure of the individual consumers can be set individually using the pressure reducing valve. The integrated pressure relief facility means that no additional pressure relief valve is needed in the actuator line. Installation of the screw-in cartridge in control blocks as well as in the Wandfluh sandwich plates (vertical stacked systems) and flange valves of the NG4-Mini, NG6 and NG10 types.



3-way Flow Control Valve with Fixed Pressure Compensator

DESCRIPTION: 3-way flow control valve as screw-in cartridge with thread M22x1.5 for cavity in accordance with ISO 7789. The valve can be supplied in 2 different setting versions: Spanner setting «S» and rotary knob setting «D». Available as standard are 3 nominal flow steps.The two-part cartridge body is made of steel. External parts are zinc coated and as a result rust protected.

FUNCTION: The 3-way flow control valve is designed to keep the oil flow to any actuator constant irrespective of the load. Surplus volume flow will be diverted to the tank line thus saving energy and preventing an overheating of the hydraulic system. By turning the knob of the variable restrictor, the volume flow can be adjusted. In case of pressure fluctuations, the through flow cross-section in the pressure balance spool changes in such a manner, that the pressure difference in the measuring orifice is kept constant.

APPLICATION: For use in all hydraulic systems where the supply volume flow needs to be kept constant even when the load fluctuates. Installation of the screw-in cartridge in control blocks as well as in the Wandfluh sandwich plates (vertical stacked systems) and flange valves.



3-Way Flow Control Valve with Fixed Pressure Compensator

The valve can be supplied in 2 different setting versions: Key setting «S» and turning knob setting «D». Key adjustment «S» is also available with cover. Available as standard are 2 nominal flow steps.The two-part cartridge body is made of steel. External parts are zinc coated and as a result rust protected. The colorlessly anodised aluminum rotary knob gives this quality product a clean design.

FUNCTION :The 3-way flow control valve is designed to keep the oil flow to any actuator constant irrespective of the load. Surplus volume flow will be diverted to the tank line thus saving energy and preventing an overheating of the hydraulic system. By turning the knob of the variable restrictor the volume flow can be adjusted. In case of pressure fluctuations, the through flow cross-section in the pressure balance spool changes in such a manner, that the pressure difference in the measuring orifice is kept constant.

Explosion Protected Hydraulic Valves

The well-proved explosion-protected hydraulic valves, equipped with Wandfluh solenoid coils with pressure-proof encapsulation, now are GOST-Ex - certified. The valves also have the certifications in accordance with ATEX and IEC Ex.

 

In the programmer there are spool valves, poppet valves and proportional pressure valves. They are utilized in the petrochemical industry, in offshore operations, in the textile industry, in the wood processing industry as well as in the pharmaceutical industry.



NG6 Intrinsically Safe Solenoid Spool Valves
