Automatic Power factor Correction for loads using H.T. Supply, upto 11 Kv.

This product is especially suitable for P.F. improvement at water pumping stations and in industries using 3.3 and 6.6 kV motors. The present practice of connecting fixed capacitor banks at the motor terminals has serious problems. In most of the cases the series fuses blow off, when ever the motor is 'inched' rendering the whole exercise futile.

Udeet supplies highly reliable thyristor switching systems for coarse P.F. correction at motor terminals and a small HT, APFC panel for fine centralized correction. We also recommend having a single HT, APFC panel at a centralized location to save on the cost. However this solution is recommended only if sufficient space for panel installation is available.

Thyristor Switching of capacitors for power factor improvement has many advantages over conventional contactor switching. Thyristor Switching is more reliable, accurate, maintenance free and especially suitable for fast variable loads, where contactor switching systems fail to give desired results. Load P.F. correction is quick and consistently near to the set value. Total P.F. correction is achieved within few hundred milliseconds.
 
P.F. correction is slow. Total correction takes few minutes.
 
Fast P.F. correction reduces maximum demand more effectively, hence more savings on account of reduction in MD charges.
 
Slow response P.F. correction is not as effective in reducing maximum demand, especially when the load variations are fast.
 
Capacitors are switched through thyristors at "zero current crossover threshold". Hence the capacitor connection to the mains is always smooth, transient free and absolutely without generation of harmonics and voltage spikes.

Most of the panel builders have their own facilities of fabrication, painting, assembly etc. We supply ready made TSC modules, complete with thyristors, thyristor firing cards, protection circuits, heat sinks, cooling fans etc. Those are available in different ratings from 50 kVAr to 150 kVAr. Larger rated APFC panels can be manufactured by using two or more module of suitable rating to suffice the requirement. Any technical input, if required, is provided without any charge from Dombivli (Mumbai) works.
