We are the first Private Sector Company in India in the field of Solar Photovoltaic Sytems. We also have to our credit, the distinction of being the first company in the Private Sector to manufacture Solar Cells & subsequently be tested at Arizona State University, USA, in 1987. The prestigious SESI-2004 Business Leadership Award (Solar Photovoltaic) has been conferred on us. In order to meet International Quality Standards, 70% of the raw materials are imported. Complying with ISO Standards, the processing is done in Clean Room Environment. Exacting tests like UV-Exposure, Hot-Spot, Pull-Test, Gel-Test, Flash-Test and Hail Impact Test are carried out.

The high yield and high efficiency cell process is the resultant of our in house product and process development perfected over years of experience and competency in the field.

USL Photovoltaics Pvt. Ltd. is our sister concern. It was established as a 100 percent Export Oriented Unit (EOU) primarily to facilitate the Shell contract. Our products are exported to Europe, East African Countries & Asia. A strong distributor network exists in Europe & Asia.

USL was established in the year 1984. The company manufactures Solar PV Cells, Modules and Module based systems with a capacity to produce 5 MW Cells and 10MW Modules. It has been steered forward to the current enviable position and currently led by the promoter Mr.N.Krishnakumar CMD, an Electrical Engineer with over 25 years experience in Photovoltaics.

Solar Photovoltaic systems harness the energy of the sun to produce power. These systems are gaining relevance especially in areas where it is not viable to connect expensive power grids. Being non-polluting and requiring low maintenance, they are looked upon as more reliable than the conventional power lines. USL has made significant developments in this field in the last decade.

Certified as a ISO 9001:2008 company as a manufacturer of Solar Cells, PV modules and photovoltaic systems, USL products have been evaluated in worldwide laboratories like NREL, USA and TUV, Germany. USL offers solar modules for OEM customers for global markets in stand alone and grid connect systems. USL has been a contract manufacturer PV Modules for Shell Solar BV, Shell Solar GmbH, BEL, REIL, Reliance, etc., This has placed the company in a unique position to implement world class production practices, thanks to the patronage of our quality customers.
