Relays - Overview

Switching Large  & Small Capacities   :-  Basically, the reliability of the contacts in the relay reaches to a maximum at a medium current load thanks to the continuous self cleaning effect. As the contact load increases & hence leads to more severe erosion of the contacts, the switching reliability decreases with an increasing number of switching operations.

Contacts of Silver-Nickel which is standard for the majority of Relays are generally suitable for currents of approximate 10ma & higher. Such large surface contacts can switch both low & high currents.

For applications that call for improved contact reliability or low currents / voltages, conventional relays with hard plated gold contacts are preferable because they do not erode & therefore operate more reliably.

If maximum switching reliability is necessary, especially for low currents/ voltages, a relay should not be your first choice. In these instances its  advisable  the use of Optos. Wear & abrasion caused by mechanical movements are non – existent in optos.

Switch Mode Power Supplies
Power supplies  are important links in the energy supply chain of automation systems. Regulated switch mode power supplies are at the heart of every electrical cabinet. 24VDc has emerged as the standard control voltage for the supply of electrical sub-assemblies & systems.  Power supplies have proven themselves reliable over many years in the supply of electrical & electronic systems. Of course they carry the CE mark & comply with all valid national & international standards.
They can be put to good use in an industrial environment, in process engineering & in the building sector. They also function reliably under harsh environmental conditions.

Analogue signal conditioning is used in all types of electronic industrial & marine measurement & control systems- for example in processes such as power plants, steel works, water & waste plant, oil and gas production & Chemical processing. Such measurement parameters must not be degraded on their way from the field to the control room, despite external influences from the atmosphere & installation.

Conversion or changes to these signals requires electronics of the highest quality, which can also withstand wide ambient temperature changes, electro-magnet interference, a vibrating environment, corrosive or hazardous atmospheres.

Surge Protection products from the PU1 series ( Class 1 ) , PU II series  ( Class II )  & PU III   ( Class III ) effectively reduce the surge protection even below the limits prescribed by the insulation coordination according to DIN VDE 0110. This means that the entire system is subjected to less interference.

The coordination is achieved by technical means. This means that decoupling between Classes I, II & III is not necessary.
