size: the pieces being banjara rural area old time productions, hence can be of any assorted sizes around 12" few inches small or big. Also they being banjara vintage pieces, they are bound to have irregularities and a few missing or broken mirrors etc.

further these pieces are completely assorted in the type of work like different types of hand embroidery with mirror works and emblishments like shells, pearls, pendals, buttons etc.

the banjara gates/ door hangings are used mainly for door or wall decoration. They come completely assorted in work and in 3-4 colors only like maroon, brown, blue and with mostly white. Being original banjara products from the rural areas of india and being old they are bound to have a few unremovable stains and irregularities. The best is however done (by hand work generally) to give them the best look and with least amount of alterations we can pass from our end.

about: tribal dhokra brass castings
the awe-inspiring dhokra castings are another one of its kinds of creations by the tribal people of chhattisgarh, kolkata, orissa and some other eastern parts of india.
the simple looking brass castings though actually take long specific hand process by the tribes of india. A highly viscous wax looking material is taken out from the nests of the bees. The waxy stuff being very viscous semi fluid, rope shaped in form is used to form sculptures by circling around itself. The wax, after it dries up more is then covered by a special clay formed with a combination of many types of soils. The clay covers up the wax sculpture to form a mold. The clay along with the wax inside is then allowed to dry up completely till it is capable of holding hot liquid brass in it.
brass is then heated up to a melting point and poured into the mold from one opening. It takes the place of the wax and after cooling off the clay is removed broken and washed away from the top to leave behind the beautiful breath taking brass dhokra casting sculptures. The dhokra casting process has been carried out by the tribal people in india from a long time and is still alive amongst its extollers.

The sequin patchworks are collected from vintage textile products, mainly sarees and dupattas from the regions of Rajasthan, Uttar pradesh, Gujrat and other northern states of India. The vintage sarees are collected from house to house and then to the mandis (markets) from where they travel to suppliers manufactures like us(Uma Arts). these tapestry table runners are made from the patches of lucknowi zari chikan work embroidery. The embroidery is new and fresh and these patches are taken mostly from the yarn of various colors, mixed and matched and then used. The same can also be ordered in a tapestry wall hanging 40"x60" size. Once the patches are pasted on the tapestry table runner they are hand stiched with a thick bundle of threads (preferably a dyed one) to match a color of home decor.
