Non-metalic covering layers ensure that flanges are not damaged, even at high loadings, and provide excellent sealing properties when supported by the grooved metallic gasket. Kammprofile gaskets are use in heat exchangers may be fitted with grooved partition bars.

The Spiral Wound Gaskets UNIQUE are composed of a metallic continuous stripe with a special shaped profile, coupled with a continuous filling stripe (CAF & CNAF, Asbestos & NON Asbestos, PTFE, Graphite, Ceramic etc.) evenly wound in concentric spirals under constant stress. The Spiral Wound Gaskets UNIQUE are reinforced on the inner outer diameters by winding several electrically welded spirals of metal only.

The main properly of the spiral wound gaskets UNIQUE owing to the elastic action of the special metallic stripe profile, is that of offering a perfect sealing under all fluctuating pressure and temperature conditions, also where the temperature excursion has considerable values, maintaining tightening by elastic recovering. These elasticity can be modified by a proper selection of the components, and they can be installed even with flanges at standard working, with lightly pitted or buckled by the use of flanges. A proper selection of the materials (both metals and fillers) allows to adequate the spiral gaskets to the most various operating conditions.
