  • Advised a major company for management agreement with Accor for their hotel in Hyderabad
  • Provided multiple consultancy services for development of a new hotel on NH-8 for appointing key personnel and project consultants and negotiating with international hotel chains for management tie-up
  • Prepared a feasibility report of a hotel in Ludhiana, which was part of a shopping Mall, Entertainment Complex, Club and a hotel
  • Advised a Singapore based international company for taking over master franchise of Shakey's international food chain
  • Advised a Swiss company for setting up Topamare Health Spa in Singapore
  • Prepared upgradation, renovation and extension plans for Hotel Si Rusa in Port Dickson, Malaysia
  • Advised a leading developer in the construction of a Mega Mall in Indore. Negotiation with various hotel groups was done to lease out the hotel area in the Mall
  • Handled an assignment in the year 2001-02 in Dubai regarding the takeover of hotel, its operation, upgradation and sale
  • Completed a two year assignment in the mid-nineties for an Indonesian Group for an integrated resort development on more than 90 acres of beach land in Bali. Encompassing two deluxe hotels, time sharing condominium, an international standard golf course, as well as a shopping village, the assignment involved preparation of concept plan and feasibility report, as well as negotiations and drawing up of agreements with various consultants, as also with corporate and government bodies
  • Managed a hotel in Malaysia and managed/owned five restaurants in Singapore under his own company for five years
  • Worked for Oberoi Hotels International for more than 15 years. Involved in international expansion of Oberoi Group in Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, Tahiti and other countries of Far East
  • Provided consultancy services to a number of hotel groups in Singapore, including Oberoi Hotels International, Hind Hotels International and Brunei Hotel.

America's Country Hearth Inn & Suites


 America's Country Hearth Inn & Suites

Two of the country's favorite economy brand hotel brands reconfirmed their popularity with both franchisees and the traveling public by posting impressive growth statistics for 2007 in number of new properties opened and in number of total reservations fulfilled.

America's Best Inns and Suites grew by 23% as it opened 18 new properties with a total of 1,649 rooms and Country Hearth grew by 32% as it opened 22 new properties with a total of 1,421 rooms, according to Doug Collins, chairman and CEO of Atlanta-based America's Best Franchising Incorporated, which operates both brands.

With these additions, America's Best Inns and Suites now operates 98 properties which have a total of 6,722 rooms while Country Hearth now operates 90 properties which have a total of 5,592 rooms.

In addition, America's Best Franchising achieved significant increases in reservations – 45% on its two brand websites and 11% through all sources combined. Average daily rates (ADR) for its properties system-wide grew by $5, or 8%, to $74 for reservations through its brand websites and by $3.89, or 6%, to $72.90 for reservations through all sources combined.

"These numbers are dramatic, but especially satisfying is the overwhelming vote of confidence represented by these figures," added Collins. "In today's crowded marketplace, both hoteliers and travelers have many choices about who they wish to do business with – and we're very honored that resoundingly during 2007, they selected our brands. That makes us even more committed to continuing during 2008 in the directions which have made us successful – namely, providing the highest levels of service for our guests and the best possible profitability for our franchisees."
