Micanite is a general term used to define to all classes of built up mica for electrical insulation. It is made by sticking mica splittings with a suitable binder with/without reinforcement material and forming uniform sheet of desired thickness and size by processing under heat or pressure. Micanite products are used as electrical insulating materials in A, E, B, F & H classes electrical machines depending upon the binding system employed and the reinforcing material used.
