Impact Tester

We are offering impact testers, which have the impact testing capacity of 300 J and are designed as per the ASTM standards. These are used for conducting Izod, Charpy test, which conform to BS BSEN: 10045-2:1993, BS 131 Part 41972 (Amended 15 Aug 1993). The machine works as follows:

  • The Pendulum is mounted on antifriction bearings
  • It has two starting positions, the upper one for Charpy & the lower one for Izod testing
  • On release, the Pendulum swings down to break the specimen and the energy absorbed in doing so is measured as the difference between the height of drop before rupture and the height of rise after rupture of the test specimen and is read from the maximum pointer position on the dial scale
  • There are two strikers and one combined support available for fitting in to the pendulum and on to the base to the machine for Izod, Charpy test
  • Changing from one striker to another is achieved simply by fixing the new striker into it's position

The following tests can be done using this machine:

CHARPY TEST:

  • The Charpy test piece rests on alloy steel support anvils, fitted on the base of the machine rigidly held in position by Allen screws
  • End stopper is provided for quickly and accurately locating the test piece centrally between the supports

IZOD TEST:

  • The Izod test piece is clamped vertically in Izod support fitted on the base of the machine
  • The support is provided with a machined vertical grove to suit the test piece size The front clamp piece and the Allen screw enable clamping of the test piece in correct height with the help of Izod setting gauge supplied

  • Digital Balance for Unbalance Indication: Amount (Accuracy ±1 Digit) and Angle of unbalance (Accuracy ±1 Degree) for both planes displayed separately
  • Simultaneous Indication: Amount and Angle of Unbalance in both planes displayed simultaneously and remains displayed (Stored) till the next run

  • Auto Range: Coarse or Fine Range gets automatically selected till rotor gets balanced within tolerance limits
  • Auto Stop: Machine stops automatically after stabilisation of unbalance results
  • Data Storage: Data of various rotors can be stored against respective rotor type numbers
  • Self Check: Panel is equipped with this mode which checks proper functioning of digital display, LED's in cyclic operation. This assists in immediate fault detection

We are offering CBR Load Frames (UMI-106), which are used for finding the relative bearing ratio and expansion characteristics of soil used for base, sub-base and sub-grade of roads, pavements and run ways. These can conduct tests on all types of soils including sand, gravel, and crushed stone. Our frames are used for selection of materials and control of sub base. The test is done in following manner:

  • The testing procedure is very simple
  • A 50 mm dia penetration piston is forced in the test soil and load required to penetrate the piston is measured
  • Load is measured by mean of compression proving ring and penetration depth by dial gauge

The features and specifications are as follows:

  • These are strong enough to resist distortion or porosity and retain their shape and size under rugged conditions
  • These moulds are given internal surface finish of a very high order, to comply with requirements laid down in IS:10086, BS:1881, ASTM C31 and ASTM CI 92
  • The design is such that during dismantling and re-assembly, these moulds attain accuracy of alignment.

We are engaged in manufacturing Vibrating Machine, which has specially been designed to prepare cement mortar for strength determination as specified in 15:4031. These machines are also used for mixing lime with pozzolonic materials for determination of lime reactivity (as per IS:1727) and for uniform mixing of soils with additives such as lime, cement etc. Our machines have stainless steel mixing bowl with a capacity of 4.75 litres. Moreover, the stainless steel paddles can have both planetary and revolving motion for uniform mixing. It can be electrically driven at two speeds. The specifications are:

Designed as per IS:4031 and 1S:10080 standards, these are used for vibrating the mix in moulds according to strictly controlled programme at a frequency of 12,000 ± 400 cycles per minute. The features are:

  • The Vibrator is mounted over coiled springs and the vibrations are developed by means of a revolving eccentric shaft
  • The centre of gravity of the vibrator, including the cube and mould, is either at the centre of the eccentric shaft or within 25 mm below it
  • The simple design of the machine facilitates easy assembly and dismantling of the cube moulds
