We design and supply precision engineered ductility testing machines that is used to carry out the ductility tests on bituminous material. The ductility testing machines comprises of a water bath with a heater and a circulating pump to maintain water temperature uniform. One half of the briquette molds is fixed on a fixed plate in the water bath and the other half of the briquette mold is attached to a carrier that slides over a rotating threaded shaft with a clutch.
Ductility can be defined as the distance in cms to which a standard briquette of bitumen can be stretched prior to the breaking of threads. The briquette can be stretched at a rate of 50 mm/minute ± 25mm per mount at a temperature of 25 ºC ± 0.50ºC.
Marshall stability test is applicable to hot mix designs using bitumen and aggregates up to a maximum size of 25mm.
