A most advanced state-of-the-art continuous coil coating line is used to produce the Uttam Spectrum Pre-painted range. It involves unwinding of skin-passed Galvanized coils, cleaning / brushing, rinsing, degreasing, chemical pre-treatment consisting of surface conditioning, conversion coating, chromating and drying. The treated strip surface is then coated with three layers of organic coatings: Primer, Top coat and Back coat in three-stage roll-coating stations and is oven-cured at each stage. One major advantage of this process line is its flexibility which allows it to be used for other coats like SMP, SDP, PVDF and Lamination in adition to Regular Modified Polyesters. The line also has the facility to laminate different designs of film on steel surface, after primary coating.

Uttam's best quality steel is also available with zinc-coating for added corrosion resistance. Uttam is India's No.1 stand alone single site producer of galvanized value added steel products. Its multiple continuous non ox type hot-dip galvanizing lines are fully automated and computer controlled. Zinc coating is meticulously controlled by the use of special air knives, which facilitate uniform coating thickness and controlled spangles. These lines have facilities for stretch leveling, skin-passing and controlled oiling.

technical facilities include the HICON/H2 Bell Annealing furnaces from M/s Ebner Industrieofenbau Gasellschaft m.b.h. HICON/H2 furnaces use convection technology. The facility comprises 4 work bases, 2 gas-fired heating bells and 2 air/water cooling bells. It is designed to anneal cold-rolled steel strips, in DQ, DDQ, EDDQ, SEDDQ and other special grades. Control and visualization tasks are accomplished using a modern operating system, via the VISUAL FURNACES software application
