Duplex Heat Exchanger

On a common framework, two identical tube heat exchangers and identical shells are mounted on a common framework. Out of these two, one is kept as standby and the other is in operation. These duplex heat exchangers are intensively used in continuous operating units including processing units, turbines, power generation units etc. If the operational unit faces some problems or deteriorates, the standby unit is brought into operation.

In oil cooling applications, these are ideal specially when there is scarcity of water and for obtaining optimum economical utilization. Axle flow fans and motors of requisite capacity are associated along with these air blast oil coolers. In our collection, these are available in various standard sizes having the capacity ranging from 500 kcal/hr to 10000 kcal/hr. On demand basic, we offer fully customized designed air blast oil coolers. Our company designed these pressure vessels reservoirs to meet the requirements of API 682 for Plans 52 and 53A. These reservoirs are of 3 & 5 gallon capacities and are available in two versions i.e., welded ellipsoidal head and flanged removable bottom head for ease of internal cleaning. Pressure indicator, pressure switch and level switches are the available instruments and these systems are supplied as complete assemblies, which are ready to install. Made from 316L stainless steel, these API 682 reservoir systems are best suited for the refinery, petrochemical and chemical industries.

Our company has also plan 53C, which is a dual pressurized system that eliminates the use of gas for pressurization through the use of a piston reservoir. The barrier liquid is stored on the top side of the piston, which travels the length of the vessel dependent upon the change in barrier liquid volume. Further, a reference pressure, typically taken from the seal chamber, is provided on the bottom of the piston. The difference in area on either side of the piston creates a 10% increase in the barrier liquid pressure across a full range of operating pressures. With a capacity of 5.25 gallons, this system is best for applications that have fluctuating pressures. This system is made with 316L stainless steel with maximum pressure of 1175 psi / 81 bar to give the best results.

We also offer Plan 53B, which is a dual pressurized system that eliminates direct gas contact with the barrier liquid. Having a capacity of 2.5 / 5 / 10 gallon accumulator size, it uses a bladder accumulator as a physical barrier between the gas and the barrier fluid. Further, the bladder is pressurized with gas prior to filling the system with barrier liquid. Once the system is filled, the bladder is compressed and thus it starts providing a positive pressure on the barrier liquid. In order to provide cooling, circulation is via a pumping ring, and a heat exchanger (air- or water-cooled) is added to the sealing. The API 682 Plan 53B are made up from stainless steel, monel, carbon steel with a maximum pressure of 1500 psi / 103 bar.
