The Arc melting furnace essentially consist of Double walled water cooled melting chamber fitted with two view ports for viewing inside Crucible Assembly with swiveling mechanism and hydraulic system for loading and unloading. Working Temperature 1300 Degree C Ultimate Vacuum 5 X 10(-7)mbMelt Spinning Furnace![]() Product Code : vt-MSF Description Vacuum Melt Spinning Unit is used for rapid solidification of a range of metallic alloys. The alloys are loaded as small chunks in a cruicible with a small nozzle or orifice at the bottom. The charge is melted by rapid induction heating in a vacuum or controlled atmosphere to avoid oxidation or contamination. The melt is ejected by applying inert gas pressure over the melt and is rapidly solidified as ribbon over a rotating copper wheel. The unit consists of a vacuum chamber made of SS 304L material, High Vacuum Pumping System, Induction Melting Power Supply with matching coil, Melt Spinning Drive for copper wheel, crucible and crucible holder with pressure ejection device and XYZ movement of nozzle of the crucible, mirror with holder, gas feeding device and control console with standard system protection. The total system is mounted on a frame as the molten metal falls on the rotating wheels and metal tapes are formed. Spinning Charge : Ion, Nickle, Aluminium based or such alloys. Spinning Drive : Linear Speeds controllable between about 5 to 60 m/sec on a 40mm wide, 300mm dia copper wheel mounted on a shaft driver through a canned motor assembly of 2HP. Crucible Holder : With provision for continuously varying the angle of inclination and provides pressure ejection facility for molten metal to pass through the bottom nozzle on the copper wheel. Melting Device : 15 KW Induction power supply is used with a matching coil. The induction coil is made from water cooled 1/4" copper tube of dia 50mm. A mirror holder with plane mirror and a rotating mechanism is provided outside the chamber near the view port to observe sample temperature. Vacuum Hot Press![]() Product Code : vt-Hot Pre Description The "Vacuum Hot Press" essentially consist of a double walled water cooled cylinder made of SS 304 material, Hydraulic Press of required capacity. Chamber is designed to hold 5x10-6 mbar Dynamic Vacuum. The inside surface is baked to remove the dissolved gases and then buffed to mirror finish. The inner chamber is provided with 10mm thick Graphite Felt insulators. Provisions are made for inserting 3 thermocouples, openings for inert gas inlet and outlet, openings for top and bottom plunger, inlet & outlet power coonections and vacuum pumping ports. Heating Elements and radiation shields : Cylindrical Split type graphite resistance heating element. Pumping System : High Vacuum system maintains vacuum in the range of 5x10-6 mbar at 15000C for melting as well as during the distillation process. Hydraulic Frame : Motorised power pack to suit 5 tons cylinder with 150mm stroke and 50mm dia ram is used. The bottom ram is fixed and the top ram is movable. Graphite rams are fixed to the SS 316 rams through graphite screw bolts. The load measurement is done through 5 tons tension compression load cell which is fixed on the hydraulic system. Linear travel is measured by using linear encoder to an accuracy of ± 1mm. Pressure measurement of the hydraulic system is done through a pressure transducer. Pressure is controlled through the pressure regulation cum relief valve. An universal datalogger is used for data acquisition of temperature, pressure and vacuum. An Interface with the datalogger facilitates the coupling of a PC to monitor all the parameters. |
