Vaigai Group, named after the Vaigai River on whose banks the city of
Madurai flourishes, was established
in 1981 with
a vision to become the number one corporate in South India, and to be
known throughout the country as a diversified, socially responsible
group. A leading company in the field of chemicals and edible oil,
the Vaigai Group has established itself as a force to be reckoned
with.
The
Vaigai Group has spent nearly three decades revolutionizing
innovation and entrepreneurship - providing customers with the
products they need where they need them. Over

The
Vaigai Group has registered
consistent growth over the past 5 years. Our
five manufacturing plants are strategically spread across the state
of Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Pondicherry. We are
headquartered at Madurai, South India with our overseas office at
Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Chemicals
Chemicals
has been the core area of operation for Vaigai since its inception.
Our Chemical division is located at Karaikal, about 250 kilometers
from Madurai.
Since
1981, our chemical plant has been India’s 2nd largest Potassium
chlorate manufacturing facility. Continuous research at our R&D
centre leads to process improvement and also ensures a world-class
quality product.
Vaigai
is a major supplier of Potassium chlorate to the fireworks and safety
match industries and has a 40% market share in India. Our 11
distribution centres at strategic locations
form an extensive network across the country,
backed by solid logistics and communication facilities ensures a
smooth supply of our products
throughout India.
We
are the largest exporter of Potassium Chlorate from India, our
exports reach across three continents, covering 25+ countries. We
have been acknowledged as top quality manufacturer by both domestic
and overseas customers
Besides
increasing our capacity and customer base, we constantly upgrade our
manufacturing technology to attain better efficiency and product
quality.

Vaighai
Finetex Limited, Vaigai's Textile division, has been a niche supplier
of quality products ranging from yarns and fabrics to garments to an
international customer-base for more than 15 years. Over these years,
Vaigai has positioned itself firmly in the niche pockets of the
industry - something that has translated into a strategic advantage
of being a flexible and high-end product and service provider in the
textile industry.

The International Trade Division, a specialized Business unit of the Vaigai
group spearheads the export thrust for both in-house manufactured products
as well as out-sourced synergistic products for supply to the global market.

Quality
Vaigai
International never made any compromise. It always believed in giving

best. Right from the gathering of raw materials to the packaging,
Vaigaians take absolute care to ensure that its products do not lose

Oils
Vaigai began its Oils division in 1990 with a
solvent extraction plant to manufacture rice bran oil and de-oiled
bran. Today, it is one of the largest rice bran oil extraction
complexes in India, with two manufacturing plants having rice bran
processing capacity of 210,000 tons per annum.
Known for our consistency, quality and
reliability, our products have found use in the edible oil industry,
animal feed industry, pet care and animal nutrition industries.
Vaigai holds 8% of market share in India in rice bran processing
sector.

Achievements and Awards
Vaighai Chemical Industries LIMITEd, a Madurai based company received the award for “Highest Processors of Rice Bran” in India from SEA (Solvent Extractors Association) the prime body that represents the Solvent Extractors in India. The company processed 1,38,500 MT of Rice Bran during the year 2008–2009.
VAIGHAI is the 1ST company in Tamil Nadu to receive this award. Vaighai Chemical Industries has 2 plants located in Madurai & Tirunelveli. The company procures Rice Bran from around 800 rice mills in a Tamil Nadu. Vaighai also imports Rice Bran from Sri Lanka.
India’s edible oil consumption is 11 million MT per annum. 50% of this requirement is being met through imports. Rice Bran oil is a major import substitution for edible oil. The SEA also gave awards for highest processors & exporters of other edible oil and cakes like Sunflower, Soya, Kardi Oil Etc. |
