Road Testing Machines
|
Leveraging on our rich experience in the industry, we are able to offer our clients with a comprehensive assortment of road testing machines and equipment. Complying with the industrial norms and the standards of CRRI, our range is designed using optimum quality raw material and latest technology.
Our assortment encompasses the following:
|

 | Road Unevenness Recorder Measurement of roughness of a road is of vital importance
to a highway engineer and this is the reason that we have come up with a
superior quality range of automatic road unevenness recorder. An even surface
of road is important because of the following factors:
- For
a comfortable ride to users
- For
minimizing stress to vehicles
- For
minimizing fatigue to user
- For
determining the vehicles speed
- In
the interest of road safety
- For
assessing vehicle operating costs
Our automatic road unevenness recorders, also known as
Bump Integrators or Roughometers are superior to that of conventional feeler
gauges or wedges because of the following reasons:
- Quick
measuring process
- Hassles
free and convenient
- Cost
effective
- Ideal
for long stretches
- Effective
for overall evaluation is a direct consequence of surface irregularities, i.e.
the relative vertical movement induced by it between axle and chassis of a
vehicle.
- Standardized
method that has unvarying characteristics
Available in the form of single wheeled trailer, these
recorders give quantitative integrated evaluation of surface irregularities on
an electronic counter. The specifics of this range are mentioned below:
- Accessories:
- Trailer
of single wheel with a pneumatic tyres mounted on a chasis over which an
- Integrating
device is fitted over the chasis
- Penal
board fitted with 2 sets of electronic counters (for counting the
unevenness index value)
- Specifications:
- Operating
speed:
30 ±½
Km/Hr
- Towing
operation: By a vehicle, usually a jeep
- Usage:
- For
assessing the degree of surface finish and recording surface
irregularities of highways and runways
- For
determining riding quality of the road/runway pavement
- The
records so obtained can be immediately attended to for rectification
- These
can also be studied for judgment and decision in classifying pavement surfaces
by the authorities for serviceability of the pavement and stage for repair
or upgrading
- For
evaluating the performance of the specifications adopted for roads and
runways and the developments of unevenness with age and under traffic
- Advantages
- Low
maintenance cost of pavement and vehicles
- Increase
in the load carrying capacity of the vehicle
- Prolonged
the working life of the vehicles and the driver
The automatic road unevenness recorders that we
manufacture are used for setting the standards and to test and record road unevenness, These devices help in quantitative integrated
evaluation of surface irregularities or surface unevenness within a road
section on board in a prompt manner.

 | Surface Roughness Tester For measuring roughness of roads by keeping in mind the
factors of cost, speed, and regular calibration, we have come up with a
superior performing range of Merlin roughness measuring machines. MERLIN or
called as Machine for Evaluating Roughness using Low-cost Instrumentation, is
an easy to operate machine that is designed for use in developing countries. Merlin is used either for direct measurement or for
calibration of other instruments like towing wheel bump integrator and
vehicle-mounted bump integrator. This machine computes the vertical
displacement between the road surface under the probe and the centre point of
an imaginary line. Manufactured in as per the standards of IRC: SP16-2004,
the accessories offered with this machine are mentioned below:
- Two
feet (1.8 meters apart)
- Probe
(lies mid-way between the feet) rests on the road surface along the
wheel-track

 | Vertical Profile Meter Besides surface roughness, there are two other vital
aspects that govern the operating cost of a vehicle. These are horizontal
curvature and vertical gradient, which combined with surface roughness, is
called geometry of roads. Horizontal curvature is a factor that ascertains consumption
of fuel and vertical gradient governs wear and tear of tyres and certain spare
parts. To find out and record vertical gradient of highways, we
have come up with a vertical profile meter that is quicker and more accurate in
all terms. Widely used in assessing and improving the vertical profile of roads,
this machine is fitted in a car or suitable vehicle for a quantitative
measurement. Following are the specifics of this range:
- Features
- On
board measurement
- Fast
and accurate measurement
- Cumulative
count of plus and minus gradient
- Gradient
count displayed on separate electronic counters
- Display
of distance on separate electronic counter after 20 meter of length
traveled
- Specifications
- Gradient
measurement up to ±18%
- 12
Volt battery of vehicle of the vehicle
- Advantages
- Timely
improvisation of vertical gradient of roads
- Less
Fuel Consumption
- Lesser
wear and tear of tyres and other spare parts
- Increase
in the efficiency of the vehicle
- Saving
of energy and foreign exchange
- Less
operating cost to the vehicle operators
- Less
traveling time and increase safety
