The success of V-Guard is testimony to the breadth of vision of its founder, Kochouseph Chittilappilly. Established in 1977 with a meager capital of Rs. 100,000, two employees and a production capacity of 50 stabilizers a month, V-Guard today is a household name across India. It has a network of 83 distributors, 75 service centers and 7000 retailers across the country, to serve more than 40 million satisfied customers. The Company’s Electro-Controls Division is a state-of-the-art facility for the production of stabilizer cabinets. The Electrical Cable Division located at Coimbatore is a fully automated, ISO 9001 certified facility that manufactures electrical cables starting from 0.25sqmm size to 10sqmm size. Warehouse / Production CapacityKochi, 28th May 2010: The Board of Directors of V-Guard Industries Limited, the electronic and electrical major today considered and adopted the audited financial results Company for the year ended 31st March, 2010. Backed by a growth in the white goods and electronic and electrical segments, the Company’s net profit surged by 46.85% to Rs.25.47 Crores for the year ended 31st March, 2010, from Rs.17.35 Crores for the last year. The profit before tax increased by 50.36% to Rs.39.51 Crores for the year under review, from Rs.26.28 Crores for the last year. The net turnover of the Company for the year ended was Rs.454.09 Crores, registering a growth of 43.35% compared to the turnover of Rs.316.78 Crores for the previous year. Considering the improved profits, the Board of Directors recommended a dividend of 30% i.e. Rs 3/- per equity share for the year 2009-10, which will be subject to the approval of the shareholders in their forthcoming Annual General Meeting. Mithun K Chittilappilly, Executive Director of the Company said that the increase in the net turnover can be attributed to the better penetration of the north Indian markets and also stretching the wings to the tier II & III cities of the existing South Indian markets. Contribution of all the products to the turnover was remarkable and outlook for the future also seems good. He added that profitability improved due to better sales mix, better penetration level of both the existing as well as unexplored markets, efficient sourcing of all inputs and the cost management initiatives. He added that the Company has utilized 95% of the IPO proceeds for commissioning the various projects mentioned in the offer document and the remaining two projects i.e distribution centre in Hubli and Vijayawada will be completed by the end of the current fiscal. The Company has also appointed Dr. George Sleeba, as Joint Managing Director with effect from 1st June, 2010. Quality Policy / ProcessesV-Guard has a holistic, enterprise-wide approach to quality.
