RKB Multistage - Multioutlet Pumps

RKB Multistage - Multioutlet Pumps
We offer multistage pumps of type RKB from Kirloskar. These pumps are available in delivery size up to 250 mm with the capacity up to 850 m3/hr and head up to 850m. The pump consists of a number of ring section diffuser casings bolted between suction and delivery casing. We have various models on offer that operate at 1450 rpm and 2900 rpm at 50Hz and 1750 rpm and 3500 rpm at 60 Hz power supply frequency. Specifications of its components are as following:

  • Casings: Its latest technique based casing ensures smoothness of hydraulic passages resulting in high efficiency and reliability under hazardous conditions. Its delivery flange is vertical and the suction flange can be oriented left or right viewed from driving end.
  • Impellers: It has the enclosed impellers of the radial flow type that are provided with balancing holes to balance the hydraulic axial thrust. Due to this, the rotating elements are statically and dynamically balanced.
  • Shaft: Its shaft is made of high tensile steel that is accurately machined and ground is supported by antifriction bearings that take the residual axial thrust and prevent axial float or radial run out. The shaft is protected by shaft sleeve from wear in stuffing box area.
  • Stuffing box: Its stuffing box can be sealed by gland packing or by mechanical seal with minor modification. A cooling jacket is provided for the stuffing box while pumping high temperature liquids from 90C to 140C.
  • Bearings: the bearings are lubricated using grease. However, oil lubrication is required for temperature above 90C to 140C.

  • Standard: Clockwise viewed from driving end
  • Optional: Anticlockwise viewed from driving end
  • Drive: The pumps offered in this range are suitable for coupling with electric motors, I C engines or steam turbine either directly or through belt drives.

Our Kirloskar process pumps are available in following specifications:

Constructional specifications:


  • Pumps are as per DIN 24256 and ISO 2858 and generally conform to API 610 (7th Edition)
  • Design: back pull out type
  • Various available models to operate at 1450 rpm and 2900 rpm at 50Hz and 1750 rpm and 3500 rpm at 60 Hz
  • Casing: The casing has axial suction and top centre line delivery. Smooth hydraulic passages ensure high efficiency. Normal design is for foot mounted pumps. Centre line mounting for special applications are also available.
  • Impeller: Enclosed type and semi-open impellers as per requirement. Hydraulic balancing of impellers is achieved either by back vanes or by balancing holes. The impellers are statically and dynamically balanced. Reliable fixing of the impeller on shaft is achieved by using helicoil insert under impeller nut. Inducer can be supplied to improve NPSH performance,.
  • Shaft: Two antifriction bearings support the shaft to take residual axial thrust and prevent axial float or radial run out. It is fully protected from the liquid handled by means of a shaft sleeve and PTFE gaskets between impeller nut, impeller hub and shaft sleeve.
  • Stuffing box: It is sealed by gland packing or by mechanical seal. By changing some standardized parts, conversion from gland packing to mechanical seal is done. Re-machining of stuffing box is not necessary. Stuffing box cooling is provided for operating temperature 105 0C for gland packed and 140 0C for mechanical seal fitted pumps.
  • Bearings: The bearings are oil lubricated. Bearing oil cooling arrangement is provided for high temperature (above 1800) application. All pumps are provided with reinforced bearing arrangement as standard supply.
  • Direction of rotation: Clockwise viewed from driving end
  • Drive: Pumps can be driven by electric motor or engine

Specifications of the components of the pump are as following:

  • Casing: End suction with top centre line delivery as well as horizontal side delivery. High efficiency volute providing smooth unobstructed flow. Delivery flange and feet are cast integral with the casing. A large inspection opening is provided on casing with easily removable cover.
  • Impeller: Single suction type non clog impeller dynamically balanced. Enclosed or semi-open impellers are available in code N, P, Q or R.
  • Shaft: In SHM pumps, four driving units cover the entire range. Shaft is supported by two bearings. Shaft in stuffing box area is protected by a shaft sleeve. Axial clearance between semi-open impeller and suction wear plate can be adjusted externally without dismantling the pump. The shaft sleeves under bearing housing and bearing spider are shrunk fitted to shaft in SHS pumps.
  • Stuffing Box: Standard stuffing box is gland packed with grease sealing. Without cooling up to 90 0C and with cooling up to 140 0C. Mechanical seal option is also available.

Bearings for SHM Pumps

Standard: Deep groove ball bearings at DE/NDE.

Optional:

  • Deep groove ball bearing at DE and roller bearing at NDE.
  • A pair of angular contact ball bearings (BECB) at DE & one cylindrical roller bearing at NDE.
  • Standard lubrication is grease and optional is oil.

Bearing for SHS Pumps: Intermediate shaft bearing is rubber (For water Lubrication) and bronze bearing (For grease lubrication). Thrust ball bearing in combination with metallic journal bearing at head shaft. Transmission bearings are lubricated with external clear water or grease.

Thrust bearings are grease lubricated.
