To diffuse Vinayak name further, Asha is now preparing to enter the extended market of diverse buyers localized in other parts of the country as well as abroad. Though there have been numerous offers, Asha wants to be selective to give each market her best. This is the reason why she has opened up another frim by the name of Vinayak International which will specifically look after exports. The new firm would be managed by her son Gautam Gupta who also looks after the sales & marketing of Vinayak. |
About The OwnerDesigner Asha Gupta was born in Akola, Maharashtra. She graduated from Nagpur University and came to Delhi after her marriage to a businessman. She has two daughters and a son. Asha’s passion for creativity in mode surfaced primarily during the weddings of her two daughters. Her artistic talent emanated from the saris that she designed for them, as this was a fascination for her at that time. As this fascination grew, it brought along streams of recognition and accolades for the lady from all her relatives and friends who requested to be dressed in her silhouettes as well.
The favorable response that Asha received from them sparked a desire to transform her enthusiasm into a profession and soon, she made a modest beginning with a collection of only forty saris and one tailor. The gratifying acceptance of this modest collection then led to a need for marketing her creativity and this initiated her participation in designer exhibitions. Five years in to this business of artistic proficiency and she already had a full-fledged, not to mention a very popular collection of Bridal Lehengas, Designer Sarees, Formal Salwar Kameez, Indo-westerns followed by Formal Wear for kids and Bed Linen. Asha’s focus has always been the needs and desires of her customers, thus her constant endeavor is to deliver the exact product that they are looking for. Customization, she believes is the mantra for tomorrow. As she rightly says "There is so much awareness these days. Customers know what they want. So, it becomes imperative that they be given exactly the image that they are looking for." That's the hallmark of a successful designer.
Thus, she tries to bring out the Indian element in her designs in a way that benefits both the craftsmen and the customer. Her aim is to reflect as truly as possible a women's attitude, her aspirations, desires and personality. And so her designs symbolize the impeccable culmination of a plethora of colors, hues, style, artistic expression and an individual's attitude.Her forte lies in traditional Indian clothing, especially Indian Bridal wear that draws from the textile and embroidery heritage of India. Her artistic expression combined with her aesthetic representation of these classics is what distinguishes her work from that of her competitors who are engaged in the similar trade of Indian wedding trousseaus. For Asha it's a passion because she feels that "A girl's marriage is the most important occasion of her life. Her trousseau needs to reflect that sentiment."
