What Does Grit Size Mean? |
| The grit size in general decides the attainable surface finish as well as the stock removal rate. The larger the grit size, the rougher the surface finish and elevated is the stock removal rate. Therefore, at the time of concluding honing process smaller size of grit is used while for roughing larger grit size is suggested because at the time of finishing operation, manufacturer doesn’t need to remove a lot of material but excellent surface finish is required. |
