About Us

west bengal working & helpless women¿s housing society is a non government and a rural grass root level organization. It was established in 1987 under the leadership of a social worker mr. Tapan kumar mitra. As the organization started growing up, he experienced with awe that there was not a single day when cries of helpless anguish were not heard. The determined knight started holy war against evils of women empowerment. The organization endeavours to develop peoples initiative relating to ecological balance, economic development & community organization in order to build a self reliant and sustainable society bearing a holistic approach towards deprived and destitute children and girls. Our main motto is self employment. We believe that a people centric approach promotes community initiatives to better their living conditions. We are committed to social justice, sustainable development and human rights and we aim to help improve the quality of life for the poor and underprivileged people of the world. Once our general secretary attended a seminar at salt lake auditorium in the year of 1992-1993. It was organized by the planning commission of india and aicurd-new delhi. The honorable central minister mr. Uttam vai patel, mr. Pranab mukherjee, prof. Santi mohan roy, the great social worker dr. Fulorenu guha and mr. A. K. Agarwal, general manager, idbi bank, presided over the meeting. Mr. Tapan mitra, chief functionary, founder and general secretary of west bengal working and helpless women's housing society delivered a long speech regarding deprived and destitute children and girls. For that reason mr. Mitra founded short stay home for the benefit of poor. But unfortunately near about 20 years past india government quite idle for grant purpose.
