Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren Ltd. (WGSRL), the flagship company of Welspun Group is the 2nd Largest (Large Diameter) Pipe Producer in the World (Financial Times UK, 2008) and 'The Emerging Company of the Year' (Economic Times Corporate Excellence Awards, 2008). With a strong culture of ‘Engineering Excellence' WGSRL is all set to be the World's Largest Pipe Company with an increase in capacity from 1.5 million ton per annum to 1.8 million ton by March 2010.

WGSRL has grown over 200 times in the last one decade from a Rs. 18 Crores in 1998 to almost Rs. 4010 Crores in 2008. With a dynamic setup, the core strength of success is its quality, integrity and values.

At Welspun, quality control does not mean certifying the final product. Instead it refers to the continuous monitoring of each and every stage of the cycle to get the well finished Welspun SAW pipes.

Total Quality Management (TQM) is incorporated at each level of not only the manufacturing process, but also the administrative process at each end of production supported by SAP 6 enabled processes. Right from selection of input materials, to the final finished product, care is taken to see that at each step the exact process and techniques are followed, to give the perfect well tested product.

Welspun is amongst the few companies which has filed patents in the United States for the new welding processes and has also attained level 3 automation in the Plate Mill supported by digital controls.

Highly skilled professionals with strong in-house training and world class practices primarily from Germany , ensures highest quality of products. With its own lignite based 43 megawatt captive power project, Welspun has its energy needs secured.

Each manufacturing facilities are audited by The American Petroleum Institute (API) besides our prestigious clients. Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren Limited has the premier integrated set-up for manufacturing welded pipes. It has installed the state-of-the-art-technology and is completely geared to meet the requirements of the global industry.

The Longitudinal Pipes division (LSAW) has a capacity of over 350,000 metric ton per annum.

The Spiral Pipes division (HSAW) has a capacity of 900,000 metric ton per annum. 

The ERW Pipes division has a capacity of over 250,000 metric ton per annum.

We are equipped to meet demands for 1.5 million tonne of pipes per annum, for various pipelines as well as for structural applications with heavy wall

 

Little Rock , Arkansas, USA

With manufacturing facility on a 740-acre site adjacent to the Little Rock Port Authority, the $150 million facility commissioned in February 2009. This API certified facility currently employs more than 300 people and is capable of producing 350,000  tons of HSAW pipes annually for the use of the oil and gas industry. 

The facility can produce Pipes from 24 to 60 inches as outer diameter; 6 mm to 25 mm as wall thickness and length of 40 -80ft. It also has Coating and Double Jointing capabilities and is a one-stop-solution provider to Welspun's valued customers.

 

Plate-cum-Coil Mill

The first of its kind in India and is amongst the few technologically advanced mills in the world. This backward integration at Anjar, Kutch, Gujarat, India has annual capacity to produce 1.5 million tones of Plate and Coil with plates (up to 4.5 meters wide, 140 mm thickness) and Coil (up to 2.8 meters wide, 25 mm thickness) with strength of 120,000 PSI. This mill can cater to high end specialized product requirement of Line Pipe Industry (API grades), Shipping, Heavy construction, Bridges, Boiler plates, Wind blades etc. Welspun is in the process of hiving off this Plate-cum-Coil Mill division to a separate 100% owned subsidiary.

He has been instrumental in conceiving the projects and their expansion, selecting technology and arranging for necessary resources including project finance. Mr. R.R. Mandawewala, is the Joint Managing Director of Welspun Group, Chairman of Christy, UK www.christy-towels.com) and Sorema, Portugal (www.sorema.pt). He is in-charge of operations of the textile business (www.welspun-towels.com). A Chartered Accountant by profession and with over 20 years of experience, he has expertise in industries varying from Textiles to SAW Pipes.

Mrs. Dipali Goenka Director, Welspun India Ltd, has been the driving force in launching Welspun India in the domestic market and single handedly driven Welspun's retail initiative – Welspun Retail Ltd.
