The saga of "WINDWELL" began with an enterprising advent of Navsari Iron Foundry (NIF) & Mechanical Works in early fifties, at Navsari, India, performing repair jobs on oil engines, automobiles, pump sets, tractors etc. In 1965, NIF began manufacturing of Bakelite Rotary - Grooved Drums During early 70's, the company indigenously developed quite unique and innovative product of hollow cast aluminium Hard Anodized Metallic Grooved Drums for the first time in india and most likely in the world too.
With prevalence of technical yarn in the industrial market, 'NIF' embarked upon development of suitable alternatives and introduced Steel Grooved Drums with Diffusion (Nitriding) The Steel drum with surface treatment assures longer life and excellent resistance to both abrasive and adhesive wear.
Drum sizes in diameter range from : 76mm (3") to 165mm (6.5"), Traverse : 76mm (3") to 300mm (12"), Turns : 1.5 to 4, Accelerated pitch for coning or Universal pitch for cheese, with or without Ceramic Inserts, Suitable for manual & automatic Winder, having aggregate production capacity of 70,000 drums per annum.
