Wolkem's R & D effort spans mineral discovery, mine development, mine safety, environment protection, aforestation techniques, mineral processing technology and product development. Expert teams develop, refine and evolve the technical means to transform mineral rock into end-user application material.

To develop consistent high-quality customized grades, Wolkem's scientists conduct sophisticated research in mineral grinding, beneficiation and surface modification techniques. A unique mineral sorting & grinding system is the back bone to new product development.

Wolkem's R&D centre is DSIR approved (approved by the Ministry of Industry, Govt. of India) and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology & instrumentation.

Wolkem is the first company in India to develop & manufacture Microbial Controlled Natural Calcium Carbonate, Indian Pharmacopeias certified Natural Calcium Carbonate, Ultra fine (< 2 micron) Wet Ground Natural Calcium Carbonate, surface treated Wollastonite, Ultra fine (< 8 micron) Wollastonite.

Due to Wolkem’s unique quality assurance system each finished product batch can be traced right back to the mining face from which it was extracted. Stringent grading and sorting of mined ore from extraction to processing ensures quality consistency.

The laboratory is equipped with instruments like Malvern, Cilas, Sedigraph, Elrepho, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, Gas Chromatographs etc.

Wolkem's mines are true repositories of the highest grade natural Wollastonite & Calcite in the world. Today Wolkem owns mining leases for minerals like Calcite, Wollastonite, Talc and Kaolin across Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal and in Kerala States of India.
