Submersible pumping set consists of a centrifugal pump directly coupled to a submersible motor. Normally, the whole unit is suspended in a vertical position.
The cable connecting the motor to the electrical controls is clamped along with the column pipe. It is not necessary to install a 'submersible' in a vertical position and it can be worked in horizontal or inclined position as the case may be.

Standard Construction : Where the cast components in SS-410 and FG-200 are used in conjunction with stainless steel stator housing .
Total Stainless Steel Construction: All main motor components are manufactured out of SS-304, which form the basis of reliable corrosion resistant long life product.
Special N Construction: for sea water application and where ambient temperature exceeds 55°C using Super Duplex S.S./Marine bronze.
ATALANTA Submersible Motors are 2/4 pole asynchronous wet wound squirrel cage induction type. They are water cooled and water lubricated.
Double rubber seal or mechanical seal prevents leakage of water filled in the motor before installation.
All ATALANTA Submersible Motors are provided with a reflux pressure compensating device to equalize the pressure changes inside the motor.
Stator windings are rewindable and water cooled which is a distinct advantage over the sealed stator design.
Winding wire is dual insulated for high temperature applications.
The Mitchel type thrust bearing are designed to withstand maximum thrust load with minimum wear and tear.
The supply to the motor is through 3/4 core flat PVC or round rubber cable which passes through water tight sealing gland. Two leads of 3 cored are supplied for motor with Star Delta starting.
