Vacuum Pumps
Vacuum pumps help in inducing a
pressure difference & creating vacuum between two regions of a
pump. These are offered under two categories - transfer pumps &
trapping pumps.
Transfer pumps – Also known by
the name of kinetic pumps, these impart momentum to the gas, which is
being pushed in a way that gas is transferred continuously from inlet
of the pump to the outlet.
Trapping or capture pumps –
These are usually located in container being evacuated and help in
removing gas molecules by sorption/ condensation on its internal
surfaces.
