Oleic acid is a fatty acid that occurs naturally in various animal and vegetable fats and oils. It is an odorless, colorless oil, although commercial samples may be yellowish. In chemical terms, oleic acid is classified as a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid, abbreviated with a lipid number of 18:1 cis-9. The principal use of oleic acid is as a component in many foods, in the form of its triglycerides. It is a component of the normal human diet as a part of animal fats and vegetable oils. Oleic acid as its sodium salt is a major component of soap as an emulsifying agent. It is also used as an emollient.

These Trisodium Citrate are highly effective and guarantee no negative effects. These Trisodium Citrate are manufactured by our experienced and qualified team of chemists.

Definition:

  • Trisodium Citrate occurs as two forms: The crystal form (dihydrate) called Trisodium Citrate (crystal) and the anhydrous form called Trisodium Citrate(anhydrous).

Instruction for Use:

  • Dissolve required amount into a small volume of must. Add to bulk of must prior to fermentation and stir well.

Mixtures with other acids :

  • Trisodium citrate anhydrous can be mixed in any ratio with other acids without lump forming. It is freely soluble in water and practically insoluble in ethanol (96%).
  • Tri-sodium citrate is only added to raise the pH if necessary after all acid has been added - whether natural acid from the fruit or added acid in the form of Tartaric acid, citric acid, or malic acid, etc.

Main Functions:
Food/Beverages

  • Controls pH
  • Regulates tartness together with citric acid
  • Chelates trace metal ions
  • Complexes calcium ions in cheese
  • Modifies or enhances flavour
  • Imparts flexibility to cheese slices
  • Provides uniform melt-down characteristics
  • Slows down gelling action in pectin jellies
  • Stabilizes whipped cream
  • Aids flavour development in cheese
  • Stabilizes colour in meat
  • Prevents formation of phosphate "whiskers" on meat surface
  • Used as an anticoagulant agent in meat industry.

Pharmaceuticals

  • Chelates calcium
  • Buffers pH
  • Maintains stability of active ingredients
  • Reduces astringency
  • Acts as antiplaque and anticoagulant agent
  • Acts as blood and urine alkalizer
  • Cleaners/Detergents
  • Substitutes phosphates
  • Reacts with other chemicals

  • Is rapidly biodegradable

Industrial Applications

  • Provides a bright plate in alkaline baths

  • Acts as sequestering agent in metal plating

  • Acts as component of printing plate emulsions in photo chemicals

  • Adjusts pH and forms metallic complexes in photo chemicals

  • Acts as nucleating or blowing agent in polymers/plastics production

  • Acts as pigment dispersant in pigment slurries

  • Lowers viscosity and improves stability in pigment slurriesLowers viscosity and improves stability in pigment slurries
