Compared to the more established branches, electronics is newcomer in the field of engineering. Until recently, it was considered an integral part of Electrical Engineering, but due to the tremendous advancement during the last few decades, it has now gained its rightful place.he Electronics & Communication Engineering Department of the Institute is contributing its mite to the task.

The vision of the department is to develop eminent Computer science & engineering graduates   who can take up challenges of industry as well as research activities .The department started in 2001   with a batch of 60 students and has till  now rolled out 11 batches of students .The department has association with various industry organizations  like INFOSYS,ORACLE,ICT Academy ,TCS etc in offering various add on courses both technical as well as soft skills. The departments has achieved consistently high ranking  in self financing colleges in Kerala ,due to high university results as well as high placement .The department  has state of the art lab facility  and digital library opened 24*7 hrs .The department offers both UG and PG program’s. The research center of  CSE department (SHREIS)was inaugurated Dr Abdul Kalam on –Oct 2010 The Department provides ample opportunities for various student  activities under IEEE,CSI, TECHNOLEGION (student club),BRAHMA (Tech festival) ,social service  etc ,to bring out the hidden potential of students and mould them to become a true professional with social commitment .The department has established various innovative learning methods  .Various additional courses and self learning capability are provided to students  .The department main strength is its Teaching staff who are highly qualified ,and dedicated  All the staff in CSE undergo quality improvement programme and continuously update their knowledge and skill .The department offers encouragement in entrepreneurship through BOOT CAMP facility in association with start up village and IEDC-TB  .The department consultancy wing –SHREIS consultancy center –offers various consultancy services like

The main objective of the department is to impart a solid basic knowledge, a sound scientific background and widespread technical-application skills to ensure immediate entry into the labour market.
