Adikala The Indian Traditions Store
But not all tamilians are aware that its Bhojpuri and mithila is the language they speak… its litti & choka they eat… The puja is called Chhatt on 6th day after diwali… they express their emotions through Madhubani… The ladies live passing time by doing Sikki work… A bengali doesnot know about Punjabi… a Assamese doesn’t know about gujarati… and almost India doesnot know about what happens in those secluded seven sister hills of North east….
Here is the disastrous fact… when communication and networking technology started throwing some light on these diversities and specialties , when multicultural people started working together on this technology at the same premises, the educated clan started getting little bit of each other…. But we never forecasted that The same technologies will be the master killer of all those multicultures, regional rituals, rural expressions of art, traditional lifestyles, richest of the oldest languages for which world came running to us to learn…
Now the future India is traveling towards one culture which has the same elements in all states… IT industry culture… don’t know to write/ speak mother tongue culture…. fast food culture… not socializing with next door/closing the apartment door culture… real estate culture…mall culture.. no relatives except mom dad culture…Alas! Before we get to know about each other… things vanished…and there is nothing more to know about each other in any part of India… there is nothing to practice for our kids… and nothing to showcase on which we were proud of…. Its no more that multicultural… multilingual… multi ritual… multispecialty India…
Aadhikala preserves diversified cultures of Indian states, traditional arts, refined and healthy lifestyle, rituals which supported the strong social structure - by keeping visibility and availability of objects related to them.
We accept that there is absolutely nothing wrong with learning new culture or being globally fit by our internal/ external personality. Wearing a western outfit does not make us anti-Indian.
We are not going to involve in stupid protests that all Indian woman should wear only saree… we wont say that you should decorate your house with only madhubani or warli painting… we wont force that you should wear your tow ring without fail…
But when you search for a good Baluchery or Coimbatore cotton saree, we will say “ Yes- you can get it”… When we show you refined art pieces of Madhubani and warli with quality and finish, you will tempted to décor your house with that… When we demonstrate the ritual feelings, your inner sense would love to do that again… atleast once in an year, you will wish to dress up with your traditional outfits as our shringar set will smile at you… and your friends will say … “WoaaaaoW”
