Natural-Source Vitamin E

ADM is the largest producer of Natural Source Vitamin E and Mixed Tocopherols. The natural form of vitamin E, d-alpha-tocopherol, is better retained by the body compared to the synthetic form (dl-alpha-tocopherol). The bioavailability (available for use by the body) is 2:1 for natural-source Vitamin E over synthetic Vitamin E.
ADM has the broadest vitamin E product line, with alcohols, acetates and succinates in a wide range of manufacturer-friendly forms for capsule, tablet and compounding applications. We offer powder formulations specifically designed for better flow and compressibility.

Mixed Tocopherols - Mixed tocopherols are antioxidants found in nature and are used in fats, oils, and in a wide range of fat-containing food and feed products. Mixed tocopherols contain natural mixtures of d-alpha, beta, gamma and delta tocopherols.

D-Alpha Tocopherol - d-alpha tocopherol is the form of tocopherol that is better retained. It is the only form of alpha tocopherol found in nature. The low viscosity and high concentration make d-alpha tocopherol ideal for soft gel capsules.

ADM offers a line of unmodified, modified and pre-gelatinized wheat starches that function as thickeners, extenders, emulsion stabilizers and ingredient carriers.
Our products in this area are flavor-neutral, and are designed to improve texture and tenderness in a variety of foods.
There are numerous advantages to working with our starches in cakes, noodles, pie fillings, soups, sauces, cereals, coatings, bakery and batter mixes, dustings and convenience foods.
Our line of unmodified starches includes Aytex P®, Whetstar® 3 and Whetstar® 4. These starches gelatinize at low cooking temperatures and are especially useful in systems requiring delicate texture, flavor and light color.
Jeltec 3 and Jeltec 8 are modified, low-gelling cook-up starches with high paste viscosity, clarity and reduced retrogradation. They enhance the water- holding capacity of meat-batter emulsions by binding with the additional formula water and reducing weight loss in processed meats during cooking. Jeltec starches are also used to minimize moisture purge during refrigeration, which helps extend shelf life. Typical meat products that benefit from the addition of Jeltec starches are regular and low-fat bolognas, wieners and low-fat, high-moisture chicken rolls.
ADM offers a line of four pre-gelatinized starches including Paygel® 290, Paygel® 295, Paygel® 300 and Readigel 11. The Paygel products hydrate rapidly in cold water and can add strength to fragile baked goods.

Gums
NovaXan xanthan gum provides multiple benefits including stabilization, suspension and thickness for processed foods. It is especially important in bakery applications where moisture control, suspension, consistency and volume are critical. In baked products, it enhances the structure without toughening, facilitating release from baking pans and reducing fragility of the finished product.
NovaXan xanthan gum’s unique “shear thinning” rheaology helps products maintain homogeneity during processing and baking, and enhances shelf life in the finished product.
Polyols
Polyols can be used in reduced-sugar foods because they are sugar-free, reduced-calorie, low-digestible sweeteners. Polyols add bulk to foods with approximately half the calories.
ADM offers sorbitol, a polyol that provides 2.6 calories per gram versus sugar’s 4.0 calories per gram. It acts as a humectant, helping foods retain moisture, and is used as a sweetener in sugar-free hard candy, chewing gum, baked goods, frozen desserts and more. It also provides a non-browning sweetener for cordial and liqueur beverages.
Maltitol
ADM has added maltitol syrup to its line of polyols. Maltitol has a pleasant, sweet taste very similar to sucrose. It is about 85 percent as sweet as sugar and significantly lower in calories, contributing only 3.0 kcals/gram on a solids basis. ADM maltitol syrup can be used in a variety of applications—from sweet goods, hard candies and chewing gum to chocolate fillings, baked goods and ice cream. With ADM’s sweetener and Fibersol-2 portfolios, we can offer customized sweetener solutions that meet the needs of your product.
