After satisfactory completion, trainees or graduates will be easily able to demonstratethe standard of competence required to undertake ship board duties as a ship cook on board amarine vessel/ship. They will also be able to understand basic rules for nutrition during shift work onboard a vessel/ship, recognized safety hazards in the galley and the prevention of food poison,mainly gained knowledge on provision and stock management, principle of environmental protectionand food budget management and administrations.

This course is as per requirements under MLC 2006 Regulation 3.2 – Food and catering – training course, food and personal hygiene, food storage, stock control, environmental protection, catering health and safety.
